Hexamethylendiamine (HMDA; CAS No. 124-09-4; 6055-52-3 for the dihydrochloride salt) is moderately toxic following acute doses/exposures with oral lethal doses in rats ranging from 750 to 1500 mg/kg. HMDA is extremely irritating to the skin and eyes and is not a sensitizer in guinea pigs. Repeated exposure inhalation studies have defined the upper respiratory tract to be the first target of HMDA. The irritation seen is proportional to the exposure concentration. Systemic damage is limited. Genetic testing is not extensive, but there is no indication of activity. HMDA is neither a developmental nor a reproductive toxin, but in one developmental study, the fetal No-observed-adverse-effect-level (NOAEL) was lower than that of the maternal animal. No carcinogenicity studies have been conducted. Documented human experience is limited, but indications of HMDA's irritative properties are found in the literature. HMDA does not persist or bioaccumulate in the environment. The chemical is not particularly toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates but is quite toxic to algae. HMDA is rapidly absorbed and metabolized by the rat with little tissue storage.

Introduction: Previous research has documented a strong relationship between currently living in the redlined zones of the 1930s and suffering from a higher prevalence of disease. However, little is known about the relationship between historical redlining, modern-day redlining, and current resident health outcomes. This paper aimed to simultaneously model the associations between both historical redlining and modern-day redlining on current health outcomes.

Transformers have been applied to medical image segmentation tasks owing to their excellent longrange modeling capability, compensating for the failure of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to extract global features. However, the standardized self-attention modules in Transformers, characterized by a uniform and inflexible pattern of attention distribution, frequently lead to unnecessary computational redundancy with high-dimensional data, consequently impeding the model's capacity for precise concentration on salient image regions. Additionally, achieving effective explicit interaction between the spatially detailed features captured by CNNs and the long-range contextual features provided by Transformers remains challenging.

Background: Mortgage discrimination refers to the systematic withholding of home mortgages from minoritized groups. In recent years, there has been an increase in empirical research investigating associations of historical and contemporary mortgage discrimination on contemporary outcomes. Investigators have used a variety of measurement methods and approaches, which may have implications for results and interpretation.

6-Aminocaproic acid (6ACA) and 1,6-hexamethylenediamine (HMDA) are key precursors for nylon synthesis, and both are produced using petroleum-based chemical processes. However, the utilization of bio-based raw materials for biological production of monomers is crucial for nylon industry. In this study, we demonstrated that metabolic engineering of Escherichia coli and selected mutations of α-keto acid decarboxylase successfully synthesized 6ACA and HMDA.
