The incidence of perinatal death resulting from rhesus Rh isoimmunization has dropped dramatically since the introduction of Rh immunoglobulin. However, Rh sensitization continues to be one of the leading causes of fetal anemia. Our patient is a 38-year-old woman; she gives a history of 2 uneventful pregnancies followed by 5 consecutive stillbirths. Investigations revealed an anti-D titre of 1/2048 and anti-C titre of 1/256. Ultrasound examination revealed fetal ascites at 18 weeks gestation. The fetus had a total of 9 successful intrauterine transfusions. She was delivered by an elective cesarean section at 34 weeks gestation; outcome was a healthy female baby weighing 2060 g. Examination at 9 month of age showed normal growth and neurodevelopment.

Aims: To determine the effectiveness of tranexamic acid (TXA) in reducing vaginal bleeding, extending pregnancy duration, and enhancing perinatal outcomes in pregnant women with placenta previa.

Methods: A multicenter, randomized, double-blind clinical trial was conducted at three maternity teaching hospitals in Iraq's Kurdistan region, Azadi Hospital in the north of Iraq, and Al-Azhar University Hospital in Egypt on 146 women with placenta previa. Participants were randomly assigned to two interventional groups in a 1:1 ratio to receive either TXA or Dextrose 5% water (D5W).

Glanzmann thrombasthenia (GT) is an autosomal recessive platelet functional bleeding disorder caused by mutations in the ITGA2B or ITGB3 genes, often presenting as mucocutaneous bleeding. GT typically presents in infancy, but this study reports a rare case of neonatal presentation in a female infant born to consanguineous parents. The mother, a 27-year-old woman with a family history of GT, presented at 36 weeks gestation for an elective cesarean due to a breech presentation.

Background: Low birth weight is a key determinant of child survival, significantly influencing rates of infant and childhood mortality, morbidity, and disability. While some studies have been conducted in our region, there is still a gap in evidence regarding the maternal characteristics associated with low birth weight. Hence, this study aimed to determine the proportion of newborns with low birth weight and determinant factors, particularly focusing on maternal characteristics.

Acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC) in pregnancy poses a clinical challenge with significant risk to both mother and fetus. Anti-TNF alpha therapy is known to be safe in pregnancy, however, data surrounding outcomes in ASUC is limited. In this report, we present the case of a pregnant patient of 10 weeks' gestation with ASUC successfully managed with intensified and accelerated infliximab therapy for a total dose of 35 mg/kg during a single admission.
