Here we present IRIS, a method for prediction of RNA-RNA interactions that is based on dynamic programming and extends current RNA secondary structure prediction approaches. Using this method we have found a number of interesting refinements to the structures of RNA-RNA complexes that have been studied previously and predicted novel targets for several known regulatory RNAs in E. coli. The computational time and memory usage of IRIS are O(n(3)m(3)) and O(n(2)m(2)), respectively, where n and m are the lengths of the input sequences. IRIS can be used for analysis of antisense regulatory systems in sequenced organisms and for the design of artificial riboregulators such as antisense drugs.

Objective: We aimed to investigate the occurrence and factors influencing early visual acuity (VA) outcomes and reoperation rates in patients with open globe injuries (OGI) and develop a nomogram for predicting early visual acuity outcomes and reoperation rate.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of data from 121 patients with treated OGI. Relevant information of all patients with OGI were collected after a 1-month timeframe post-surgery.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to evaluate anatomical and functional outcomes of the Smaller-Incision New Generation Implantable Miniature Telescope (SING IMT™) in patients with bilateral advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Methods: This non-comparative retrospective single-surgeon interventional case series included patients with bilateral late-stage AMD who underwent cataract surgery and SING IMT™ implantation at the Sant'Anna University Hospital, University of Ferrara, Italy. The main outcome measures included corrected distance (CDVA) and near visual acuity (CNVA), endothelial cell loss (ECL), and incidence of complications.

Visual search becomes slower with aging, particularly when targets are difficult to discriminate from distractors. Multiple distractor rejection processes may contribute independently to slower search times: dwelling on, skipping of, and revisiting of distractors, measurable by eye-tracking. The present study investigated how age affects each of the distractor rejection processes, and how these contribute to the final search times in difficult (inefficient) visual search.
