Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the characteristics of intraoperative nursing near-miss events in interventional operating rooms, systematically identify and analyze associated risks, and propose effective mitigation strategies.

Patients And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted using a specially designed survey focused on nursing near-miss events in Interventional operating rooms. Records of intraoperative near-miss events voluntarily reported by medical and nursing staff between January 2023 and March 2024 were analyzed.

Design and Process Considerations for Preparation of Modified Release Ivermectin and Praziquantel Tablets by Wet Granulation.

AAPS PharmSciTech

January 2025

University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 20 N Pine Street, Baltimore, Maryland, 21201, USA.

Dosage forms containing Ivermectin (IVER) and Praziquantel (PRAZ) are important combination drug products in animal health. Understanding the relationship between products with differing in vitro release characteristics and bioequivalence could facilitate generics. The goal of this study was to create granulations for each active ingredient, with similar release mechanisms, but substantially different in vitro release rates, and then compressing these granulations into tablets with differing release rates.

Whispering-gallery mode sensor based on coupling of tapered two-mode fiber and glass capillary.

Rev Sci Instrum

January 2025

Hubei Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Conversion Materials and Devices, Hubei Engineering Research Center for Micronano Optoelectronic Devices and Integration, College of Physics and Electronic Science, Hubei Normal University, Huangshi, Hubei 435002, People's Republic of China.

A novel whispering-gallery mode (WGM) sensor is fabricated by coupling a tapered two-mode fiber and a glass capillary. By utilizing the relatively large orifice of glass capillaries, polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and magnetic fluid are directly injected into two WGM structured glass capillaries, respectively, allowing these materials to substantially interact with the light field of the WGM, thereby achieving temperature, pressure, and magnetic field measurements. λ1 and λ2 are the two resonant peak wavelengths of the WGM after injecting PDMS into a glass capillary.

Wildland fire entrainment: The missing link between wildland fire and its environment.

PNAS Nexus

January 2025

Southern Research Station, US Forest Service, 320 Green Street, Athens, GA 30602, USA.

Wildfires are growing in destructive power, and accurately predicting the spread and intensity of wildland fire is essential for managing ecological and societal impacts. No current operational models used for fire behavior prediction resolve critical fire-atmospheric coupling or nonlocal influences of the fire environment, rendering them inadequate in accounting for the range of wildland fire behavior scenarios under increasingly novel fuel and climate conditions. Here, we present a new perspective on a dominant fire-atmospheric feedback mechanism, which we term wildland fire entrainment (WFE).

Indoor Environment and Health Effects: Protocol of an Exploratory Panel Study among Young Adults in China (China IEHE Study).

Environ Health (Wash)

January 2025

Department of Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, Peking University, Beijing 100191, China.

Indoor environment and health have drawn public attention worldwide. However, the joint health effects and mechanisms of exposure to different types of indoor environmental factors remain unclear. We established an exploratory panel study on indoor environment and health effects among young adults in China (the China IEHE Study) to comprehensively investigate 3M issues, including multiple indoor environmental factors, multiple health effects, and multiple omics methods for mechanism exploration.
