The postoperative infection has been recognized as a critical problem in healthcare, increasing patients'complications and hospitalization costs. At the moment the scientific evidence clearly linking ventilation parameters, such as air changes per hour, bacterial counts and infection, is lacking, with the exception of prosthetic joint surgery. This study aims to evaluate the building and operating costs of an ultraclean system versus a conventional one (which satisfies the minimum performance requested by rules), also considering the debating efficacy of ultraclean ventilation on prevention of postoperative infection. The results of our study show an increase of 24% in the building costs and of 34% in the annual operating costs for the ultraclean system versus the conventional one. The estimated 24% increase of the building costs for the ultraclean ventilation system represents only a 5% increase if compared to the total cost of a not equipped operating theatre. Therefore, the increase on costs linked to the use of high performance ventilation facilities seems to be so small that overcoming current rules towards ultraclean systems could be acceptable.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the surgical and oncological outcomes of robotic mastectomy (RM) and conventional mastectomy (CM) for breast cancer.
Methods: Our institutional registry of women with breast cancer who received RM between 2018 and 2023 and CM between 2016 and 2023 were reviewed. Propensity score matching of clinicopathological variables was used to match 123 RM patients with 123 CM patients.

CAR-T cell therapy has revolutionized immunotherapy but its allogeneic application, using various strategies, faces significant challenges including graft-versus-host disease and graft rejection. Recent advances using Virus Specific T cells to generate CAR-VST have demonstrated potential for enhanced persistence and antitumor efficacy, positioning CAR-VSTs as a promising alternative to conventional CAR-T cells in an allogeneic setting. This review provides a comprehensive overview of CAR-VST development, emphasizing strategies to mitigate immunogenicity, such as using a specialized TCR, and approaches to improve therapeutic persistence against host immune responses.

Objectives: To describe detailed surgical techniques for totally stapled intracorporeal anastomosis (TSIA) and determine their feasibility and safety by comparing short-term outcomes with those of conventional totally stapled extracorporeal anastomosis (TSEA).
Methods: In total, 59 consecutive patients who underwent laparoscopic colectomy between June 2018 and August 2021 were retrospectively assessed. Linear staplers were used for all anastomoses.

Background: To develop and test the performance of a fully automated system for classifying renal tumor subtypes via deep machine learning for automated segmentation and classification.
Materials And Methods: The model was developed using computed tomography (CT) images of pathologically proven renal tumors collected from a prospective cohort at a medical center between March 2016 and December 2020. A total of 561 renal tumors were included: 233 clear cell renal cell carcinomas (RCCs), 82 papillary RCCs, 74 chromophobe RCCs, and 172 angiomyolipomas.

Introduction: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of mental nerve block (MINB) and conventional inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) anesthesia during endodontic treatment of mandibular first and second premolars with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis (SIP).
Methods: In this randomized, double-blind, clinical trial, 120 patients undergoing endodontic treatment of mandibular premolars were randomly assigned to IANB (n=60) or MINB (n=60) using 4% articaine with 1:100,000 epinephrine hydrochloride. Pain levels were evaluated preoperatively and during cold tests, cavity preparation, and pulp extirpation using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS).
