Real-time monitoring of hemodynamics is crucial for diagnosing disorders within implanted vascular grafts and facilitating timely treatment. Integrating vascular grafts with advanced flexible electronics offers a promising approach to developing smart vascular grafts (SVGs) capable of continuous hemodynamic monitoring. However, most existing SVG devices encounter significant challenges in practical applications, particularly regarding biomechanical compatibility and the effective evaluation of vascular status.

ECG Patterns of Occlusion Myocardial Infarction: A Narrative Review.

Ann Emerg Med

January 2025

Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN; Department of Emergency Medicine, Hennepin Healthcare, Minneapolis, MN.

The traditional management of acute coronary syndrome has relied on the identification of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) as a proxy of acute coronary occlusion. This conflation of STEMI with acute coronary occlusion has historically overshadowed non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), despite evidence suggesting 25% to 34% of NSTEMI cases may also include acute coronary occlusion. Current limitations in the STEMI/NSTEMI binary framework underscore the need for a revised approach to chest pain and acute coronary syndrome management.

Protein Target Search Diffusion-association/dissociation Free Energy Landscape around DNA Binding Site with Flanking Sequences.

Biophys J

January 2025

Department of Physics and Astronomy, Department of Chemistry, NSF-Simons Center for Multiscale Cell Fate Research, University of California, Irvine, California, USA. Electronic address:

In this work we present a minimal structure-based model of protein diffusional search along local DNA amid protein binding and unbinding events on the DNA, taking into account protein-DNA electrostatic interactions and hydrogen-bonding (HB) interactions or contacts at the interface. We accordingly constructed the protein diffusion-association/dissociation free energy surface and mapped it to 1D as the protein slides along DNA, maintaining the protein-DNA interfacial HB contacts that presumably dictate the DNA sequence information detection. Upon DNA helical path correction, the protein 1D diffusion rates along local DNA can be physically derived to be consistent with experimental measurements.

Rationale And Objectives: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common pathogenesis of dementia, and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is considered as the intermediate stage from normal elderly to AD. Early detection of MCI is an essential step for the timely intervention of AD to slow the progression of this disease. Different form previous studies in the whole-brain spontaneous activities, this research aimed to explore the low-frequency amplitude spectrum activities of patients with MCI within the default mode network (DMN), which has been involved in the process of maintaining normal cognitive function.

Key Laboratory of Environmental Stress and Chronic Disease Control & Prevention (China Medical University), Ministry of Education, Shenyang, Liaoning, China; Department of Occupational and Environmental Health, School of Public Health, China Medical University, Shenyang, Liaoning, China. Electronic address:

Deltamethrin (DM), a broad-spectrum insecticide, is widely used in the world. It can exert direct action on the central nervous system to produce neurotoxicity. Exposure to DM can lead to iron metabolism disorder, oxidative stress and learning and memory dysfunction.
