Background And Objectives: Telemedicine has become a mainstay of ALS clinical care, but there is currently no standardized approach for assessing and tracking changes to the neurologic examination in this format. The goal of this study was to create a standardized telemedicine-based motor examination scale to objectively and reliably track ALS progression and use Rasch methodology to validate the scale and improve its psychometric properties.
Methods: A draft telemedicine examination scale with 25 items assessing movement in the bulbar muscles, neck, trunk, and extremities was created by an ALS expert panel, incorporating input from patient advisors.

Background: COVID-related clinic shutdowns mandated the use of a day 1 telephone follow-up the day after routine cataract surgery rather than clinic attendance. We investigated to see if this is a safe alternative to standard care.
Methods: Ninety-nine patients who underwent a routine cataract extraction between 22 April 2020 and 19 August 2020 at our Hospital were included in this audit.
Background: Telehealth is gaining importance in improving healthcare access and outcomes, particularly in underserved regions. Despite its potential, healthcare providers in developing countries struggle to effectively utilize telehealth tools, highlighting the need for structured training. This study aims to develop and validate a specialized tool to assess the telehealth educational environment, addressing the unique challenges of integrating clinical, technological, and interpersonal skills in telehealth education.

Background: In the realm of Evidence-Based Medicine, introduced by Gordon Guyatt in the early 1990s, the integration of machine learning technologies marks a significant advancement towards more objective, evidence-driven healthcare. Evidence-Based Medicine principles focus on using the best available scientific evidence for clinical decision-making, enhancing healthcare quality and consistency by integrating this evidence with clinician expertise and patient values. Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and Patient-Reported Experience Measures (PREMs) have become essential in evaluating the broader impacts of treatments, especially for chronic conditions like HIV, reflecting patient health and well-being comprehensively.
