Infrared spectrophotometric analysis (FTIR) was performed on a crystalline deposit developed in a corneal ulcer by an old woman who received ciprofloxacine ophthalmic drops. We collected the data of the literature on the subject. After in vitro crystallization experiments, we conclude that ciprofloxacin and norfloxacin corneal precipitates occur at physiological lachrymal pH with magnesium.

Purpose: Anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) is increasingly being used to complement slit-lamp biomicroscopy in the evaluation of corneal infections. Our purpose was to analyze, compare, and correlate the clinical signs elicited by these 2 methods in patients with infectious keratitis (IK).
Methods: Slit-lamp photomicrographs (diffuse and slit beam) and AS-OCT scans were obtained from 20 consecutive patients (21 eyes) with IK.

Background: To evaluate the biosafety, reduction in anterior capsule opacification, and fluctuation in intraocular pressure (IOP) of a new phakic refractive lens (PRL) with a sinusoidal drainage groove design.
Methods: This self-controlled experiment was performed on eight eyes of four rabbits. Each rabbit was implanted with a sinusoidal PRL (PRL-S5) in the right eye and a conventional posterior chamber PRL (PC-PRL) in the left eye.
Sympathetic ophthalmia (SO) is a rare, bilateral, granulomatous, panuveitis following perforating trauma or surgical intervention in one eye. Here, and to the best of knowledge, we report the first case of SO following an evisceration surgery in Pakistan. A 32-year-old, Pakistani, female presented with pain and decreased visual acuity in her right eye, at Civil Hospital, Karachi, 1 week after an evisceration surgery was performed on her left eye, following corneal perforation due to unresolved keratitis.

Purpose: To highlight the rarity of the endothelial rejection line, also known as the Khodadoust line, as a manifestation following Descemet's stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK). The objective is to present a meticulously detailed case, including imaging and anterior optical coherence tomography (OCT), to enhance understanding and recognition of this phenomenon.
Methods: A detailed case presentation involving a 50-year-old male, 3 years post-DSAEK transplantation for endothelial damage resulting from intraocular surgeries.

The understanding of the role played by extracellular vesicles (EVs) in different tissues has improved significantly in the last years, but remains limited concerning the conjunctiva, a complex eye tissue whose role is pivotal for corneal protection. Here, we conducted a comparative study to isolate and characterize EVs from human conjunctival epithelial (IM-HConEpiC) and human conjunctival mesenchymal stromal cell (Conj-MSCs) secretomes using different isolation methods: differential ultracentrifugation (UC), and a combination of ultrafiltration (UF) with precipitation or size exclusion chromatography (SEC). EVs were characterized by total protein content, size, morphology, and expression of protein markers.
