A 67-year old man visited our hospital because of cough and sputum. Chest radiograph revealed various consolidations of the bilateral lung fields. Eosinophilic pneumonia was diagnosed by transbronchial lung biopsy speciments. The clinical course and the treatment with corticosteroids improved chest radiographic findings quickly confirmed the diagnosis of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia. Based upon the significant elevation and variation of serum parainfluenza virus (PIV) 3 antibody titer, it was suggested that PIV 3 caused the chronic eosinophilic pneumonia.

Objective: To estimate the proportion of eosinophilic and non-eosinophilic (NEA) endotypes in pediatric asthma, and to compare the clinical, and laboratory characterisitics, and different comorbidities between the two endotypes in the children.
Methods: Children aged 5 to 14 years of age with clinical and/or laboratory-confirmed asthma attending the pediatric outpatient department of a tertiary care hospital in Eastern India between October 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, were included in this cross-sectional study. Complete hemogram, absolute eosinophil count (AEC), IgE, and pulmonary function tests were performed in all patients.

Background: The paradigm of bronchiectasis is shifting away from its exclusive characterization as a neutrophilic condition. Patients with bronchiectasis and high eosinophil levels have been found to have a specific phenotype, but the clinical effect of eosinopenia remains unclear.
Method: A retrospective, single-center, observational study was conducted at a tertiary medical center.

Background: There are important inter-relationships between miRNAs and metabolites: alterations in miRNA expression can be induced by various metabolic stimuli, and miRNAs play a regulatory role in numerous cellular processes, impacting metabolism. While both specific miRNAs and metabolites have been identified for their role in childhood asthma, there has been no global assessment of the combined effect of miRNAs and the metabolome in childhood asthma.
Methods: We performed miRNAome-metabolome-wide association studies ('miR-metabo-WAS') in two childhood cohorts of asthma to evaluate the contemporaneous and persistent miRNA-metabolite associations: 1) Genetic Epidemiology of Asthma in Costa Rica Study (GACRS) (N = 1121); 2) the Childhood Asthma Management Program (CAMP) (N = 312 and N = 454).

Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) is a malignancy of the lymphocytes in the lymph nodes and presents with non-specific systemic symptoms like fever, night sweats, and weight loss. While HL often involves the mediastinum, it rarely causes superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome, and eosinophilia is noted in approximately 15% of cases. Here, we report a unique presentation of HL in a 52-year-old male with a history of chronic pruritus, chronic kidney disease, and inactive hepatitis B.
