The work values of black unwed adolescent parents were explored using the Values Scale. On 21 scales, the scores of 47 youth (12 to 20 years old) were compared with those of a preliminary normative sample presented in the test manual. Significant differences between the two groups were found on 16 of the 21 scales. The values of these black adolescent parents were less crystallized than were those of the normative group and reflect the concern for this group's satisfaction of their basic needs in which physical, safety, and self-esteem needs appeared most dominant.

Precis: Current optical coherence tomography normative sample data may not represent diverse human optic nerve anatomy to accurately classify all individuals with true glaucomatous optic neuropathy.
Purpose: To compare optic nerve head (ONH) measurements between published values from an optical coherence tomography (OCT) normative database and a more diverse cohort of healthy individuals.
Patients And Methods: ONH parameters from healthy participants of the Michigan Screening and Intervention for Glaucoma and Eye Health through Telemedicine (MI-SIGHT) program and the Topcon Maestro-1 normative cohort were compared.

Optical characterization of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) freshly collected from the circumneutral "white water" of the Rio Solimoes revealed that it had lower aromaticity, lower molecular weight, and a greater autochthonous content than DOC from the acidic "black water" of the Rio Negro. The tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum), a characid member of the Serrasalmidae, is a model neotropical fish that migrates annually between the two rivers. We analysed ionoregulatory responses of the tambaqui over 24 h in ion-poor water at pH 7.

Background: Permanent supportive housing (PSH) is an evidence-based practice for reducing homelessness that subsidizes permanent, independent housing and provides case management-including linkages to health services. Substance use disorders (SUDs) are common contributing factors towards premature, unwanted ("negative") PSH exits; little is known about racial/ethnic differences in negative PSH exits among residents with SUDs. Within the nation's largest PSH program at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), we examined relationships among SUDs and negative PSH exits (for up to five years post-PSH move-in) across racial/ethnic subgroups.

Objective: To compare arterial stiffness between young adults with perinatally acquired HIV (YAPHIV) and young adults perinatally HIV exposed but uninfected (YAPHEU).
Design: Cross-sectional analysis of pulse wave velocity (PWV) measures among participants with echocardiography in the PHACS Cardiac Toxicity Substudy.
Methods: A total of 150 participants (95 YAPHIV, 55 YAPHEU, mean 23.
