Metamaterials hold great promise for application in the field of perfect absorbers due to their remarkable ability to manipulate electromagnetic waves. In this work, a full-spectrum ultra-wideband solar absorber with a multilayer metal-dielectric stacked structure is designed. Our absorber is simple and easy to manufacture, with Ti serving as the substrate, overlaid with SiN spacer layers and four pairs of Ti-SiN ring columns.

This study investigates the nature and interplay of noncovalent interactions (NCIs)─tetrel bonds (TB), hydrogen bonds (HB), and halogen bonds (XB)─in molecular assemblies formed between trifluorogermyl hypochlorite (FGeOCl) and hydrogen cyanide (HCN). Using a combination of high-level computational methods, we explored the geometric, energetic, and electronic properties of dimers, trimers, and tetramers formed in different molar ratios of interacting reagents. Various analyses reveal a significant cooperativity between TB and HB, which mutually reinforce each other, while XB interactions are diminished in the presence of TB and HB.

Cavitation has been a hot research topic for scholars in various fields because of the intense mechanical, chemical, and thermal effects of bubble collapse. It forms a cluster of bubbles, and the bubbles will affect, interfere with, and couple with each other. To grasp the main factors affecting bubble collapse and the interbubble mechanism, the paper adopts the molecular dynamics simulation combined with the coarse-grained force field to study the collapse process of the double bubble model and takes the dynamic shape change of the bubbles, the local velocity distribution, and the local pressure distribution as the object to summarize the position angle, the shock velocity, and the bubble distance on the collapse law and the primary and secondary influence relationship and then reveals the interbubble mechanism.

Defect engineering is an important method to control material properties. In this paper, large-scale sampling density functional theory (DFT) was used to investigate the adsorption and sensing behavior of NH and NO on a WSe monolayer, with a focus on the effect of selenium vacancy concentration. The results demonstrate that selectivity is inhibited on a perfect monolayer due to the similar adsorption energy of the two gases, NH and NO, while selectivity can be obtained for both of them under different selenium vacancy concentrations (NH about 2-5.

Extracting water directly from the atmosphere seems to be a perfect way to solve the water scarcity facing 2 billion people; however, traditional Atmospheric Water Harvesting (AWH) lacks the ability to adsorb water molecules in an arid climate. Porous materials are capable of assisting water adsorption; however, currently, only certain customizable Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are able to meet the standard of adsorbing water molecules at low humidity and releasing water at low temperatures at certain times that can realize assisted AWH's practical and energy-efficient use (Energy consumption < 5kWh/L-water). From this perspective, we offer a concise review of the advancements in enhanced AWH technologies, delve into the attributes of appropriate MOFs, and offer insights into the potential and future directions of MOFs-AWH.
