Published: August 2004

This article presents a rationale and description of GCS, or Grammatical Coding System. GCS is a general-use grammatical coding system designed for research on the language of normal and language-impaired children or adults and is especially useful for studies in which a relatively large number of participants are involved. It implements recent theoretical developments in linguistics to characterize development and/or language disorder in children and adults. In addition to the coding system, a computerized method for reading coded transcripts and calculating relevant descriptive statistics is presented. A full coded transcription is included in the Appendix. A detailed GCS manual may be downloaded from www.psychonomic.org/archive.

Introduction: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) represents a persistent and ascensive global threat influenced by antibiotic misuse and overuse. In the Romanian context, patterns of antibiotic consumption and resistance within the healthcare system are marked in the red scenario on the European map. General practitioners and pharmacists, among others, play a major role in stewardship towards AMR.

Background: Bladder cancer (BCa) is the most common neoplasm of the urinary system, and its high rates of progression and recurrence contribute to a generally poor prognosis, especially in advanced cases. It is reported that disulfidptosis is closely related with tumor proliferation. We aimed to construct a disulfidptosis-associated long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) signature that can predict prognosis and immune microenvironment in BCa.

Background: A theoretically informed process evaluation was undertaken in parallel to a study examining the feasibility of an oral health intervention based on an existing guideline for care homes. The objectives were to explore the factors that influenced the implementation of the intervention in order to understand the potential pathway to impact. The research team initially utilised Pfadenhauer et al.

The emergence of multidrug-resistant pathogens presents a significant global health challenge, which is primarily fuelled by overuse and misuse of antibiotics. Bacteria-derived antimicrobial metabolites offer a promising alternative strategy for combating antimicrobial resistance issues. Bacillus velezensis PD9 (BvPD9), isolated from stingless bee propolis, has been reported to have antibacterial activities against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
