Background And Objective: In a prior study, we showed no significant relationship between intake and balance of magnesium (Mg). Subsequent further investigation disclosed that intakes of both Ca and P were positively correlated with their respective balances, whereas intake of Mg did not show any significant correlation with Mg balance. In this paper, we show positive correlations between intake of Mg and balances of both Ca and P.
Methods And Results: Using these correlations, the mean value and upper limit of the 95% confidence interval (from the regression equation between Mg intake and either the balances of Ca or that of P, when each balance is equal to zero) were 4.584 and 4.802 (against Ca balance), 4.554 and 4.785 (against P balance) mg/kg BW/d, respectively. Balances of Mg and Ca correlated with each other.

Constipation is correlated with diminished cognitive function, revealing a possible rectum-brain connection. In this counter-balanced crossover trial, 13 elite triathletes underwent a Stroop test to assess cognitive function and executive control. The Stroop test was conducted both with and without magnesium oxide intake, with a 1-week washout period between sessions.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) emerges as a singular subclass of heart failure, bereft of specific therapeutic options. Magnesium, an indispensable trace element, is essential to the preservation of cardiac integrity. However, the association between magnesium supplementation and mortality in HFpEF patients remains unclear.

Preserving the balance of metabolic processes in endothelial cells (ECs) and vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), is crucial for optimal vascular function and integrity. ECs are metabolically active and depend on aerobic glycolysis to efficiently produce energy for their essential functions, which include regulating vascular tone. Impaired EC metabolism is linked to endothelial damage, increased permeability and inflammation.

The synergistic application of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) was investigated to mitigate cadmium (Cd) uptake and translocation in rice grown in Cd-contaminated soil. A pot experiment was conducted using different Ca:Mg molar ratios (Ca1:Mg2, Ca2:Mg1, and Ca1:Mg1) to evaluate their effect on Cd uptake. The results showed that the Ca1:Mg1 treatment achieved the highest reduction in grain Cd content (54.

Soil contamination with toxic heavy metals [such as aluminum (Al)] is becoming a serious global problem due to the rapid development of the social economy. Although plant growth-promoting rhizo-bacteria (PGPR) are the major protectants to alleviate metal toxicity, the study of these bacteria to ameliorate the toxic effects of Al is limited. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the combined effects of different levels of (5 ppm and 10 ppm) of accession number of MT123456 on plant growth and biomass, photosynthetic pigments, gas exchange attributes, oxidative stress and response of antioxidant compounds (enzymatic and nonenzymatic), and their specific gene expression, sugars, nutritional status of the plant, organic acid exudation pattern and Al accumulation from the different parts of the plants, which was spiked with different levels of Al [0 µM (i.
