Objective: To explore the changes of the platelet function and serum anticardiolipin antibody (ACA) in patients with pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE).
Methods: Forty-eight patients with PTE diagnosed by spiral computed tomographic pulmonary angiography (CTPA) were included as the trial group, while 20 person in which PTE was excluded served as the control group. P-selectin, and GPIIb/IIIa expressed on platelets were measured by flow cytometry, and plasma TXB(2), 6-Keto-PGF1alpha, vWF, D-dimer and serum ACA were measured by ELISA and the changes of these parameters were compared 1 week later.
Results: In the trial group, the levels of P-selectin, GPIIb/IIIa, TXB(2), vWF, D-dimer and T/K were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.01). But the plasma level of 6-Keto-PGF1alpha in the patients with PTE was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.01). The levels of ACA-IgG and ACA-IgA were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.01). After therapy the level of 6-Keto-PGF1alpha was significantly higher than that before therapy (P < 0.01), and other parameters were significantly lower than those before therapy (P < 0.01). P-selectin, GPIIb/IIIa and vWF were positively correlated with D-dimer (P < 0.01).
Conclusion: Endothelium damage, platelet activation and hypercoagulation combined with fibrinolytic activation occur in patients with PTE.

Background: There is a growing body of data to support the presence of sex disparities in outcomes of cardiovascular related hospitalizations. Despite this, there remains a paucity of data on relationships between sex and in-hospital outcomes in patients receiving a left atrial appendage occlusion device (LAAOD).
Methods: We examined the 2016-2020 Nationwide Readmission Database to identify patients with Atrial Fibrillation receiving a LAAOD.

Background: Intraneural edema is an important factor in the pathophysiology of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a manual treatment widely used to treat edema in a variety of conditions.
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of MLD on intraneural edema of the median nerve in CTS patients, as well as its impact on symptom severity and hand function.

Objectives: To explore whether the mean lumbar acceleration is a feasible tool for determining minimum eligibility criteria to compete in cerebral palsy football, differentiating between new sports classes, and to assess the effect of foot contacts on balance evaluation and class distinction.
Design: Cross-sectional study.
Methods: A total of 146 male cerebral palsy footballers classified into FT1 (n=34), FT2 (n=87), and FT3 (n=25), alongside 12 non-impaired athletes as a control group, participated.

Statement Of Problem: Harmony between prostheses and periodontal tissues is essential. The presence of a fixed prosthesis has been reported to increase the risk of periodontal lesion onset in abutment teeth and to affect longevity. However, studies comparing the supragingival plaque biofilm on fixed prostheses and natural teeth are lacking.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the effect of implantation of fresh human amniotic membranes (HAM) on bone consolidation during distraction bone lengthening.
Methods: Ten New Zealand white rabbits were used in this study. For each rabbit, we performed a diaphyseal tibial osteotomy after installing a single-plane distraction external fixator.
