To verify the hypothetical diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism (RTE), 64 patients were provided CT of the chest organs with pulmonary artery opacification, Twenty-seven patients had thromboemboli in different parts of the vascular tree. In 9 patients, the thromboemboli were parietal, with flow preservation at the site of thromboembolus fixation, and in 18 patients, the emboli occluded the vascular lumen. In 11 patients with occlusion of the segmental and subsegmental arteries, the clinical course of RTE, in addition to acute cardiovascular insufficiency, was marked by cough, hemoptysis and pneumoinfarction; the tomograms showed well-defined parts of pneumoinfarction and pleural exudate. In the event of non-occlusion thromboembolism, the clinical picture was only marked by acute cardiovascular insufficiency. In 37 patients, no thromboemboli were discovered in the system of the pulmonary artery. Of these, 27 patients presented, however, with some other pathology of the chest organs.

The purpose of this manuscript is to report a rare case of pediatric central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) in the setting of atypical hypercoagulable tests. An 11-year-old female presented to the emergency department with painless, visual changes in the left eye. Ophthalmological examination was remarkable for a central area of retinal ischemia and edema with sparing along the distribution of the cilioretinal artery along with a cherry red spot, all of which were consistent with a CRAO.

Background: As the use of robotics in total hip arthroplasty (THA) continues to gain popularity, differences in clinical outcomes when compared to manual techniques have remained unclear. This study aimed to compare postoperative complications between patients undergoing robotic-assisted techniques and manual THA for primary osteoarthritis at 90 days, 1 year, and 2 years.
Methods: Using an all-payer national database, we identified 405,048 patients who underwent either robotic-assisted or manual THA for primary osteoarthritis.

Description: Portal vein thromboses (PVTs) are common in patients with cirrhosis and are associated with advanced portal hypertension and mortality. The treatment of PVTs remains a clinical challenge due to limited evidence and competing risks of PVT-associated complications vs bleeding risk of anticoagulation. Significant heterogeneity in PVT phenotype based on anatomic, host, and disease characteristics, and an emerging spectrum of therapeutic options further complicate PVT management.

Background: Bilateral adrenal hemorrhage is a rare but often a fatal cause of primary adrenal insufficiency that can result in adrenal crisis if not identified and managed appropriately.
Case Presentation: We present a case of a 27-year-old Caucasian female who was admitted to the hospital 17 days postpartum with pleuritic chest and flank pain, shortness of breath and nausea. Computed tomography imaging confirmed multiple thromboemboli including pulmonary emboli and noted bilateral bulky adrenal glands.
Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs) are a key treatment option for patients with advanced heart failure, but they carry a significant risk of thromboembolic complications. While improved LVAD design, and systemic anticoagulation regimen, have helped mitigate thromboembolic risks, ischemic stroke due to adverse thromboembolic events remains a major concern with current LVAD therapies. Improved understanding of embolic events, and embolus movement to the brain, is critical to develop techniques to minimize risks of occlusive embolic events such as a stroke after LVAD implantation.
