Avidin functional affinity electrophoresis (AFAEP) is a new method of affinity electrophoresis. In this technique, bifunctional linker glutaraldehyde is added to the polyacrylamide gel solution to embed avidin within the gel matrix by interaction with the amino/amide groups. Samples are heated with triglycine sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) sample buffer to ensure that biotinylated proteins biotinylated peptides are negatively charged and migrate electrophoretically toward the cathode through the avidin zone regardless of their pI values. The AFAEP method allows the capture and concentration of biotinylated proteins or biotinylated peptides irrespective of the use of SDS in both the sample buffer and the gel running buffer.

: This study aimed to design and evaluate Chol-PEG micelles and Chol-PEG vesicles as drug delivery system (DDS) carriers and inhibitors of amyloid-β (Aβ) aggregation, a key factor in Alzheimer's disease (AD). : The physical properties of Chol-PEG assemblies were characterized using dynamic light scattering (DLS), electrophoretic light scattering (ELS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Inhibitory effects on Aβ aggregation were assessed via thioflavin T (ThT) assay, circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, and native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (native-PAGE).

The primary mode of transmission for Chagas disease is vector-borne transmission, spread by hematophagous insects of the subfamily. In Mexico, the triatomine is particularly significant in the transmission of . This study focused on analyzing protein expression and modifications by glycosylation in different regions of the digestive tract of fifth-instar nymphs of .

Lymphatic filariasis (LF) continues to impact 657 million individuals worldwide, resulting in lifelong and chronic impairment. The prevalent anti-filarial medications-DEC, albendazole, and ivermectin-exhibit limited adulticidal efficacy. Despite ongoing LF eradication programs, novel therapeutic strategies are essential for effective control.

Skin aging is one of the degenerative processes influenced by tyrosinase, elastase, collagenase, hyaluronidase, and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9) activity. One promising avenue for discovering antiaging therapeutics is the peptides from the spine. The aim of this study was to explore the potential of peptides from spine as a multitarget inhibitor for recombinant antiaging therapies through in silico approaches.

Hemophilia A (HA) is an inherited condition that is characterized by a lack of coagulation factor VIII (FVIII), which is needed for blood clotting. To produce recombinant factor VIII (rFVIII) for treatment, innovative methods are required. This study presents a thorough examination of the genetic engineering and biotechnological methods that are essential for the production of this complex process.
