Objective: To investigate various activities of dissolved matter of glycyrrhizic acid of Radix Glycyrrhizae and the powder by supermicro-pulverization.

Method: The contents of glycyrrhizic acid in different samples were tested.

Result: The dissolved matter of glycyrrhizic acid was greatly increased by supermicro-pulverization. The more time used for grinding, the smaller the size of the powder, and the easier the glycyrrhizic acid would be dissolved.

Conclusion: Supermicro-pulverization is helpful to the dissolved matter of glycyrrhizic acid of Radix Glycyrrhizae, and the size of powder exerts great influence on dissolved matter of glycyrrhizic acid.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Glycyrrhiza, a legume native to the Mediterranean region, has a long history of ethnomedicinal use in China. Due to its antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, anti-ulcer, and hepatoprotective properties, Glycyrrhiza is widely utilized in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders.

The Aim Of The Review: The specific mechanisms of the main active constituents of glycyrrhiza in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, precancerous lesions and colorectal cancer at all stages of the colitis-associated colon cancer "Inflammation-Dysplasia-Cancer" sequence, as well as its pharmacokinetics, toxicology, formulation improvements, and application studies, are reviewed to provide new insights and perspectives on glycyrrhiza as a dietary supplement to treat and prevent colitis-associated colon cancer.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is characterized by dopaminergic (DA) neuron loss, Lewy body build-up, and motor dysfunction. One of the primary pathogenic mechanisms of PD development is autophagy dysfunction and nitric oxide-mediated neurotoxicity.

Purpose: The current study focuses on autophagy and nitric oxide (NO) signaling roles in 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-intoxicated PD mice and their protection by their modulators.
