It was shown that chromatin contained in human lymphocytes has two stages of denaturation: with T(d)VII = 94.4 degrees C, Q(d)VII = 50.8 J/g DNA, and T(d)VIII = 105.1 degrees C Q(d)VIII = 44.9 J/g DNA. The peptide bioregulator prostamax causes a redistribution of heat among endotherms T(d)III and T(d)IV and a shift of both endotherms to low temperatures by 2.9 and 1.0 degrees C, respectively. It was supposed that the redistribution of heat among endotherms is connected with a partial relaxation of the 30-nm-thick fiber in the 10-nm filament. A weak decrease in T(d)VIII and T(d)VII of lymphocytes treated with prostamax compared to untreated ones is connected with small structural changes of nucleosomal organization in the 10-nm filament and 30-nm-thick fiber.

(1) Background: It has been reported that people affected by COVID-19, an infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, suffer from various diseases, after infection. One of the most serious problems is the increased risk of developing diabetes after COVID-19 infection. However, a treatment for post-COVID-19 infection diabetes has not yet been established.

Insulin receptor substrate (IRS)-1 and IRS-2 are major molecules that transduce signals from insulin and insulin-like growth factor-I receptors. The physiological functions of these proteins have been intensively investigated in mice, while little is known in other animals. Our previous study showed that the disruption of IRS-2 impairs body growth but not glucose tolerance or insulin sensitivity in rats, which led us to hypothesize that IRS-1 plays more pivotal roles in insulin functions than IRS-2.

Cellular aging is the inability of structures to proliferate (further division) and repair damage while maintaining metabolic activity. The key well-known factors of cellular aging are the processes of DNA damage, telomere shortening, the development of oxidative stress and epigenetic changes. The above factors provoke the development of a pro-inflammatory environment, leading to errors in gene expression and metabolic dysregulation, thereby affecting the development of age-related diseases that contribute to pathological changes in the functions of tissues and organs.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a chronic multifactorial degenerative eye disease and one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide. Despite extensive research, there is no consensus on the predominant pathological mechanism leading to photoreceptor death. AMD is associated with molecular and cellular disruptions that ultimately result in photoreceptor degeneration.
