The paper describes the synthesis and structural characterization of four novel copper(I) complexes [CuL(PPh(3))(2)] (L = 3-hydroxy-3-(p-R-phenyl)-2-propenedithioate). In addition, a tautomeric equilibrium in solution was found and Hammett correlations with (13)C NMR parameters were studied. The structure of one complex was fully established by X-ray diffraction analysis.

Binuclear silver(I) and copper(I) complexes, and , with bridging diphenylphosphine ligands were prepared. In , the silver(I) center is located inside a trigonal plane composed of three phosphorus donors from three separate and bridging dppm ligands. The fourth coordination site is filled with neighboring silver(I) ions.

Reactions of bipyridyl-functionalized imidazole-thiones and selones with MeX (X=I, OTf) afforded sulfenyl and selenenyl cations [(NNC)EMe]X (2/3, E=S, Se). Further reactions of these main-group cations with [Cu(CHCN)]BF, Cu(OTf) furnished dicationic [{Cu(μ-I)(NNC)EMe}][Y] (5/6, Y=BF, OTf) and tricationic copper(I) complexes [Cu{(NNC)EMe}](OTf)BF (7 a/7 b) when employed [(NNC)EMe]I and [(NNC)EMe]OTf respectively. All these cationic complexes were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques, including X-ray diffraction analysis.

Antibiotic residues have become a significant challenge in food safety, threatening both ecosystem integrity and human health. To combat this problem, we developed an innovative photo-powered, self-powered aptasensor that employs a novel carbon-doped three-dimensional graphitic carbon nitride (3D-CN) combined with a metal-organic framework composed of N-doped copper(I) oxide-carbon (CuO@C) skeletons. The 3D-CN serves as the photoanode, offering stable photocurrent production due to its three-dimensional open framework structure.

The copper-catalyzed Chan-Evans-Lam (CEL) coupling reaction advances carbon-heteroatom cross-coupling and has facilitated the development of radiohalogenation methodologies in radiochemistry. This study investigated the mechanisms and side reactions of CEL iodination under conditions relevant to radiosynthesis and typical organic synthesis, focusing on the effects of sodium iodide. The concentrations of copper and iodide, as well as the copper-to-iodide ratio, were identified as significant factors for successful copper-mediated CEL iodination, influencing the reaction mechanisms and side reactions.

A novel and more efficient synthesis of Cu(CNH) is presented through a salt-metathesis reaction using copper(I) chloride and sodium hydrogen cyanamide. This synthesis yields a melaminate trianion through the cyclotrimerization of (HNCN) ions, offering an alternative route to the deprotonation of melamine for synthesizing melaminate. The reaction is analyzed via differential thermal analysis.
