Background: Type IIA1b anomalies of the Mullerian system are rare. Traditionally, the method of treatment for such anomalies has been laparotomy.
Case: We discuss a case of this specific anomaly treated by resecting the non-communicating horn with the harmonic scalpel (Ethicon EndoSurgery, Cincinnati, Ohio) by first confirming a lack of communication with hysteroscopy, followed by chromotubation to demonstrate unilateral spill from the right side without leak from the area of dissection.
Conclusion: Minimally invasive techniques are an excellent alternative to laparotomy for correction of problems related to Mullerian anomalies.

The use of advanced brittle composites in engineering systems has necessitated robotic rotary ultrasonic machining to attain high precision with minimal machining defects such as delamination, burrs, and cracks. Longitudinal-torsional coupled (LTC) vibrations are created by introducing helical slots to a horn's profile to enhance the quality of ultrasonic machining. In this investigative research, modified ultrasonic horns were designed for a giant magnetostrictive transducer by generating helical slots in catenoidal and cubic polynomial profiles to attain a high amplitude ratio (TA/LA) and low stress concentrations.

Some typical defects like delamination, fiber fracture, non-uniform resin distribution and springback are inevitable as titanium-based thermoplastic FMLs are formed by general stamping process at elevated temperature due to the significant differences of various constituent materials in mechanical and thermal properties as well as deformation mechanism. Thus, a novel ultrasonic impact sizing/shaping process method was proposed in the present work, in which a stepped horn and impact tools with a cylindrical tip end was designed by means of vibration modal and harmonic response analysis, and the corresponding experiment setup was established to verify the process mentioned above. Moreover, ultrasonic impact tests were carried out for titanium-based FMLs stacked by titanium sheet, thermoplastic resin film and carbon fiber reinforced fabric to reveal their sizing/shaping mechanism and the effect of key process parameters such as ultrasonic amplitude, scanning speed of impact tool and its tip end diameter on the surface and interface characteristics of titanium-based FMLs.

Introduction: Musculoskeletal problems in professional brass musicians are very common and often involve the muscles of the embouchure. In rare cases, embouchure dystonia (EmD), a task-specific movement disorder with a wide symptomatic and phenotypic variability, occurs. Following trumpeters and horn players, professional tuba players with and without EmD have now been studied using the latest real-time MRI technology to better understand the underlying pathophysiology.

Droplet spraying is utilized in diverse industrial processes and biomedical applications, including nanomaterial synthesis, biomaterial handling, and inhalation drug delivery. Ultrasonic droplet generators transfer energy into bulk liquids using acoustic waves to disrupt the free liquid surface into fine microdroplets. We previously established a method combining ultrasonic actuation, resonant operation, and acoustic wave focusing for efficient spraying of various liquids (e.

The first measurement of longitudinal decorrelations of harmonic flow amplitudes v_{n} for n=2-4 in Xe+Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.44 TeV is obtained using 3 μb^{-1} of data with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The decorrelation signal for v_{3} and v_{4} is found to be nearly independent of collision centrality and transverse momentum (p_{T}) requirements on final-state particles, but for v_{2} a strong centrality and p_{T} dependence is seen.
