[Sinonasal malignant schwannoma: a case report].

Unlabelled: The malignant schwannoma is rarely found in the nose or sinuses. Two forms are recognized: Isolated or primitive (de novo) and those occurring as part of neurofibromatosis (Von Recklinghausen).

Objective: To study the clinico-anatomical characteristics, treatment and results together with a review of the literature.

Material And Method: We report the case of a 58 year old patient with a right maxillo-nasal tumour presenting as nasal obstruction and epistaxis. An enlarged paralatero-nasal approach allowed the removal of the malignant schwannoma. Post operative radiotherapy was also undertaken.

Results: The patient is fee of disease after ten months of follow up.

Conclusion: The naso-sinusal malignant schwannoma is a rare tumor which needs precise radiological assessment (TDM - MRI), and treated by surgery followed by postoperative radiotherapy.
