The application of azadirachtin to foliage of cantaloupes did not significantly reduce successful pollination by commercially managed honey bees, Apis mellifera L., as measured by numbers of foraging honey bees and yield. Similar results were obtained when the synthetic insecticide imidacloprid (used as a standard by cantaloupe growers) was applied to the soil. Fruit yield and quality, as a function of bee pollination, were statistically equal between the two treatments, and equal to that of the untreated control. The standard treatment of imidacloprid gave significantly better control than azadirachtin of one pest (cucumber beetle) early in the season. Fruit maturity was delayed in untreated plots, consistent with light insect pressure observed. These results indicate that an organically based insect control approach will not alter bloom acceptance and bee forager activity in cantaloupes.

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have recently achieved over 26% power conversion efficiency, challenging the dominance of silicon-based alternatives. This progress is significantly driven by innovations in hole transport materials (HTMs), which notably influence the efficiency and stability of PSCs. However, conventional organic HTMs like PTAA, although highly efficient, suffer from thermal degradation, moisture ingress, and high cost.

Despite advancements in high-resolution screening techniques, the identification of novel perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) remains challenging without prior structural information. In view of this, we proposed and implemented a new data-driven algorithm to calculate spectral similarity among PFAS, facilitating the generation of molecular networks to screen for unknown compounds. Using this approach, 81 PFAS across 12 distinct classes were identified in soil samples collected near an industrial park in Shandong Province, China, including the first reported occurrence of 12 iodine-substituted PFAS.

Three cases of aminobenzoic acid hybrid polyoxotungstates, Na(HO)[(HPWO) (OCCHNH)]·7HO (), K(HO)[(AsWO)(OCCHNH)]·4HO (), and [(HN(CH)]Na(HO)[(SbWO) (OCCHNH)]·7HO (), were successfully synthesized. This is the first report of the successful assembly of the hexanuclear {XW} (X = HP, As, or Sb) clusters and organic carboxylic acid (para aminobenzoic acid) ligands. All three hybrids feature a common {XW} unit composed of a six-membered {WO} octahedral ring capped by one {XO} trigonal pyramid.

The physical separation of CH from CO on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has received a substantial amount of research interest due to its advantages of simplicity, security, and energy efficiency. However, the exploitation of ideal MOF adsorbents for CH/CO separation remains a challenging task due to their similar physical properties and molecular sizes. Herein, we report a unique CH nano-trap constructed using accessible oxygen and nitrogen sites, which exhibits energetic favorability toward CH molecules.
