A novel V-shaped polyoxotungstate is formed when Ce(IV) metal centres bridge monolacunary [PW(11)O(39)](7-) anions to an unusual 1,4-bilacunary [PW(10)O(38)](11-) anion which appears with an unprecedented bridging structural motif.

Solifenacin (SFC) is a potent muscarinic antagonist that effectively reduces bladder muscle contraction, thereby alleviating symptoms such as frequency of micturition and urgency. Oxidation of SFC leads to the formation of impurities like Impurity K. Effective analysis and control of this impurity is crucial for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safeguarding patient health.

The largely uncharted complexation chemistry of the veterinary polyether ionophores, monensic and salinomycinic acids (HL) with metal ions of type M and the known antiproliferative potential of antibiotics has provoked our interest in exploring the coordination processes between MonH/SalH and ions of Ce. (1) Methods: Novel monensinate and salinomycinate cerium(IV)-based complexes were synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, a plethora of physicochemical methods, density functional theory, molecular dynamics, and biological assays. (2) Results: The formation of coordination species of a general composition [CeL(OH)] and [CeL(NO)(OH)], depending on reaction conditions, was proven both experimentally and theoretically.

Current techniques for identifying and quantifying sulfate radicals (SO) in SO-based advanced oxidation processes (SR-AOPs) are unsatisfactory due to their low selectivity, poor reliability, and limited feasibility for real-time quantification. In this study, naproxen (NAP) was employed as a turn-on luminescent probe for real-time quantification of SO in SR-AOPs. The chemiluminescence(CL) yield (Φ) of the reaction of NAP with SO was first determined to be 1.

The advent of d-d type complex salts for designing smart functional materials with versatile utility inspired us to develop a novel type of M(II)-Ce(IV) complex salts [M(II) = Cu and Zn ions]. In this study, we present for the first time a holistic approach to design and prepare metal complex salts of the novel hybrid d-f block type, [Cu(bpy)][Ce(NO)] (1), [Cu(phen)(NO)][Ce(NO)](HNO) (2), [Zn(bpy)(NO)][ClO] (3), and [Zn(phen)(NO)] [Ce(NO)] (4); [bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline]. The intrinsic structural and morphological properties of the compounds have been revealed by employing a suite of analytical and spectroscopic methods.

A novel voltammetric sensor based on CeO·FeO nanoparticles (NPs) has been developed for the determination of lipoic acid, playing an essential role in aerobic metabolism in the living organism. Sensor surface modification provides a 5.6-fold increase of the lipoic acid oxidation currents and a 20 mV anodic shift of the oxidation potential.
