The experiments on pollutant movement in surf zone were conducted on the two gentle beaches (with slope of 1:100 and 1:40, respectively), for diverse wave cases. The movement contours and direction of pollutants, under the action of regular and random waves with diverse wave amplitudes, were provided and studied in this paper. It was shown that, due to complicated hydrodynamics in surf zone, the pollutant movement state is quite complicated and different from that in pure current zone.

With the increasing incidence of non-hereditary Parkinson's disease (PD), research into the involvement of specific environmental factors, in addition to aging, has become more prominent. The effects of microplastic exposure on public health have gained increased attention as it is known to cause a range of neurotoxic changes, some of which are similar to the pathological features of PD. We carried out low-dose microplastic exposure experiments on mice and Caenorhabditis elegans models and implemented a survey regarding the utilization of plastic products in the population.

Background: Recent evidence suggests brain-first Parkinson's disease (PD) may start from the olfactory system, indicating potential inhalational exposure to causal agents. We investigated the impact of long-term exposure to various air pollutants on PD incidence using both single- and multi-pollutant models to account for interactions between pollutants.
Methods: This retrospective population study used data from Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database (2006 and 2018) and included individuals aged 40-65 without PD.

Transport of floating debris around the Pearl River Estuary (PRE, China) in summer is investigated by using drifter trajectories, a regional ocean model and a particle tracking model. Comparisons between simulated and drifter trajectories demonstrate that the particle tracking model accurately simulates the movement of floating debris. Ideal experiment results show that 85 % of floating debris is stranded in the PRE due to density currents, tidal currents, and wind effects.
