Semax and mexidol significantly increase the survival of white mongrel male mice upon bilateral ligation of common carotid arteries. Semax virtually completely prevented retrograde amnesia development in ligated mice under conditions of a complex extremal action (emaciating swim in cold water with simultaneous wheel rotation) and increased the lifetime of these animals in altitude test chamber.

In this Letter, we investigate the fate of the non-Hermitian skin effect in one-dimensional systems that conserve the dipole moment and higher moments of an associated global U(1) charge. Motivated by field theoretical arguments and lattice model calculations, we demonstrate that the key feature of the non-Hermitian skin effect for m-pole conserving systems is the generation of an (m+1)th multipole moment. For example, in contrast to the conventional skin effect where charges are anomalously localized at one boundary, the dipole-conserving skin effect results in charges localized at both boundaries, in a configuration that generates an extremal quadrupole moment.

We provide practical and powerful schemes for learning properties of a quantum state using a small number of measurements. Specifically, we present a randomized measurement scheme modulated by the depth of a random quantum circuit in one spatial dimension. This scheme interpolates between two known classical shadows schemes based on random Pauli measurements and random Clifford measurements.

For continuum fields such as turbulence, analyses of the field structure offer insights into their kinematic and dynamic properties. To ensure the analyses are quantitative rather than merely illustrative, two conditions are essential: space-filling and structure quantification. A pertinent example is the dissipation element (DE) structure, which is however susceptible to noisy interference, rendering it inefficient for extracting the large-scale features of the field.
