Extra-pulmonary thoracic aspergilloma is an unusual pathologic manifestation of this organism. We present a case manifesting as a mediastinal mass on chest CT causing some diagnostic difficulty and requiring surgical resection.

Cavitary sarcoidosis is a rare form and represents non-caseating granulomatous diseases of the lungs exhibiting a narrow range of differential diagnoses. The peculiarity of this case lies in the difficulty of distinguishing atypical manifestations of pulmonary sarcoidosis, such as cystic lesions, from cavernous tuberculosis. Both possess similar clinical and radiological features.

Background: Horseshoe lung is a rare congenital malformation in which the lung protrudes from the mediastinum to the other side. Owing to the high frequency of other fatal cardiovascular complications, it is often diagnosed in childhood and rarely unnoted until adulthood. We report a case of horseshoe lung in an older patient who underwent thoracotomy.

A 61-year-old woman was referred for further evaluation of an intracystic nodule in her left upper lung. Computed tomography( CT) showed a 15 mm nodule in a pulmonary cyst adjacent to aortic arch and mediastinum. Fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET)-CT showed little uptake of FDG in the lesion.
