Background: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is a leading cause of hospitalization and disability in young and middle-aged adults. This study aims to survey the efficacy of oral modafinil, a low-side-effect central nervous system stimulant, in the enhancement of consciousness recovery in moderate to severe TBI patients in the ICUs of a referral trauma center.
Materials And Methods: All ICU patients meeting inclusion criteria between April 2021 and April 2023 were screened.

Background: Renal ischemia reperfusion injury (IRI) is a post-ischemic event, which can lead to subsequent acute kidney injury (AKI), transplant failure, renal dysfunction and fibrosis via heightened oxidative stress and production of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines.
Objective: This study aims to assess the effect of Modafinil, a wake-promoting agent with previously proven anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties, on ameliorating renal IRI.
Methods: A total of 30 male Wistar rats were divided into five groups: Sham-operated group, ischemia reperfusion (I/R) control group and Modafinil pre-treated groups (at different doses of 50, 100 and 150 mg/kg).

Objective: Caffeine and modafinil are used to reverse effects of sleep deprivation. Nicotinic alpha-7 receptor and AMPA receptor positive allosteric modulators (PAM) are also potential substances in this context. Our objective is to evaluate the effects of caffeine, modafinil, AVL-3288 (nicotinic alpha-7 PAM) and CX516 (AMPA receptor PAM) on cognition and mood in a model of sleep deprivation.
