The importance of assessing and managing pain has become paramount in today's hospital environment. Poor pain management is associated with impaired health, decreased patient satisfaction, and increased healthcare costs. This quality improvement project on an internal medicine unit at an urban teaching hospital examined the impact of pain education on patient satisfaction with pain management. Although pain scores did not improve, there were improvements made with respect to patient assessment, patient satisfaction, and nursing knowledge.
Aim: This study aimed to explore the application effect of comfort nursing based on evidence-based concept in radial artery puncture hemostasis of patients after coronary intervention.
Methods: This interventional study included the clinical data of 180 patients who underwent percutaneous radial coronary intervention in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, from July 2024 to September 2024. All patients were treated with radial artery hemostasis device after operation.
Objective: To investigate the long-term impact of cardiac surgery on the quality of life in adults with congenital heart disease (ACHDs).
Methods: Patients who had undergone cardiac surgery for congenital heart disease (CHD) at the age of 18 years or more were recruited in a single-center, cross-sectional study. The enrolled subjects completed online questionnaires to assess patient-reported outcomes: perceived health status and life satisfaction, psychological functioning, health behaviors, and illness perception.

Segmental thoracic spinal anesthesia (STSA) is emerging as a promising alternative for high-risk patients undergoing abdominal surgeries, particularly those who are not optimal candidates for general anesthesia (GA). By selectively targeting the thoracic spinal segments responsible for abdominal innervation, STSA aims to provide precise anesthesia and pain management while minimizing systemic side effects. This case series presents the outcomes of several critical patients who underwent abdominal surgeries under STSA.
