Granuloma annulare (GA) is an idiopathic inflammatory skin condition with a chronic and unpredictable course. Although localized GA is usually cleared with topical or systemic corticosteroids, generalized GA is often difficult to treat owing to the lack of treatment options and recurrence with treatment. This case report describes a 34-year-old, HIV-positive, female referred to the hospital for treatment. The patient had widespread Kaposi sarcoma and a very low CD4-number. Prior to diagnosis, she had generalized granuloma annulare for six months, an incident of herpes zoster, and no sexual risk behaviour.
