A 77-year-old man presented with a 2-year history of left thumbnail dystrophy, purulent discharge and aching pain. There was no history of trauma. On examination there was a linear area of nail dystrophy and dyschromia of the nail bed. The nail plate was thinned proximally. No other digits were affected. There was no lymphadenopathy. X-ray of the digit was normal. Longitudinal nail biopsy revealed Bowen's disease along the length of the nail bed and nail matrix specimen. After avulsion of the nail plate, the nail matrix and tumour were fully excised. The defect was repaired with a split-skin graft. His symptoms were relieved.

Acral melanoma is a distinct subtype of cutaneous malignant melanoma that uniquely occurs on ultraviolet (UV)-shielded, glabrous skin of the palms, soles, and nail beds. While acral melanoma only accounts for 2-3% of all melanomas, it represents the most common subtype among darker-skinned, non-Caucasian individuals. Unlike other cutaneous melanomas, acral melanoma does not arise from UV radiation exposure and is accordingly associated with a relatively low tumor mutational burden.

Introduction: Endothelial damage is associated with acute and long-term coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) complications. Proximal nailfold capillaries and nail beds give important clues to microvascular changes associated with endothelial dysfunction.

Objective: We aimed to use dermoscopy to examine the proximal nailfold capillaries and nail bed of COVID-19 patients and identify microvascular changes.

Background: Currently, there is no clear standard for the surgical options for Evans-Jensen Type IV intertrochanteric femur fractures in elderly patients over 65 years old. This study aims to retrospectively analyze and compare the early postoperative limb function and quality of life of patients treated with total hip arthroplasty (THA) and proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) for this type of fracture. We hypothesize that there is no significant difference in complications and postoperative recovery between the two surgical methods.

Objectives: The present study aimed to compare the pressure-pain threshold (PPT) values in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and age-gender matched controls with chronic nonspecific low back pain and to determine whether PPT values could be beneficial as a disease activity predictor after secondary fibromyalgia had been ruled out.

Methods: This study contained a cross-sectional observational study of participants with RA and chronic nonspecific low back pain controls without fibromyalgia. Visual analog scale (VAS), fatigue severity scale (FSS), pain catastrophizing scale (PCS), health assessment questionnaire (HAQ), hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS), and disease activity score (DAS28) were administered.
