Using an electrochemically gated transistor, we achieved controlled and reversible doping of poly(p-phenylene vinylene) in a large concentration range. Our data open a wide energy-window view on the density of states (DOS) and show, for the first time, that the core of the DOS function is Gaussian, while the low-energy tail has a more complex structure. The hole mobility increases by more than 4 orders of magnitude when the electrochemical potential is scanned through the DOS.

In imaging of Yttrium-90 patients treated hepatic primary and metastatic cancers, bremsstrahlung photons produced in a wide energy range is used. However, the image quality depends on acquisition energy window. This research aimed energy window optimization for Yttrium-90 bremsstrahlung imaging and 48 patients with various types of cancer received radioembolization therapy were investigated.

Invisible power generation by natural and artificial light enables sustainability by onsite-power deployment, lower cost, and minimal burden on the built environment. However, dark, opaque photovoltaics limit light utilization in a transparent way. Herein, it is proposed that the active energy window (AEW) invisibly features power production, providing higher freedom for onsite power generators in window objects without limiting human vision.

Nontrivial topological surface states (TSSs), which possess extraordinary carrier mobility and are protected by the bulk symmetry, have emerged as an innovative platform to search for efficient electrocatalysts toward hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Here, a Sn-based nontrivial metal Ru Sn is prepared using electrical arc melting method. The results indicate that the (001) crystal family of Ru Sn possesses nontrivial TSSs with linear dispersion relation and large nontrivial energy window.

Background: Current clinical positron emission tomography (PET) systems utilize detectors where the scintillator typically contains single elements of 3-6-mm width and about 20-mm height. While providing good time-of-flight performance, this design limits the spatial resolution and causes radial astigmatism as the depth-of-interaction (DOI) remains unknown.
Purpose: We propose an alternative, aiming to combine the advantages of current detectors with the DOI capabilities shown for monolithic concepts, based on semi-monolithic scintillators (slabs).

In developing nonvolatile valleytronic devices, ferromagnetic (FM) ferrovalley semiconductors are critically needed due to the existence of spontaneous valley polarization. At present, however, the known real materials have various drawbacks towards practical applications, including the in-plane FM ground state, low Curie temperature (TC), small valley polarization, narrow energy window with clean polarized valley, and indirect bandgap. From first-principles calculations, here we predict an, honeycomb LaHmonolayer (ML), whose intrinsic properties can overcome all these shortcomings.
