Using results from the theory of dynamical systems, we derive a general expression for the classical average scattering dwell time tau . Remarkably, tau depends only on a ratio of phase space volumes. We further show that, for a wide class of systems, the average classical dwell time is not in correspondence with the energy average of the quantum Wigner time delay.

We report the case of a c-TGA patient affected by congenital complete AV block, with right ventricular lead malfunction with prolonged dwell time and two abandoned leads. He underwent leadless VDD pacemaker implantation at an unusual site (i.

Mode switching control of independent metering fluid power systems.

State Key Laboratory of Crane Technology, Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao 066004, China. Electronic address:

An independent metering system (IMS) realizes the decoupling of the meter-in and meter-out orifices. The energy efficiency of the hydraulic system can be effectively improved by switching between different operational modes. However, the tracking accuracy of the IMS mode-switching system is difficult to ensure, which can easily lead to instability in the hydraulic system.

Background: Adverse events associated with umbilical vascular catheters occur frequently in the neonatal intensive care unit. International guidelines recommend limiting catheter dwell time to reduce the risk of adverse events, and this drives clinical decision-making regarding catheter removal, yet other risk factors may also influence the risk of adverse events.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to develop a clinically useful risk prediction model that could be utilised in the neonatal intensive care unit to identify infants at a greater risk of developing an adverse event associated with umbilical vascular catheters.

Neonatal peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVCs) can be difficult to insert, often requiring multiple attempts, with each attempt causing pain and delaying treatment. The aim of this study was describe the clinical characteristics of neonates requiring multiple PIVCs during hospitalization. A secondary case series of neonates requiring three or more PIVCs during their admission were identified from a cohort admitted to an Australian Neonatal Unit between October 2020 and February 2021.

Background: Increased attention allocation to negative-valenced information and decreased attention allocation to positive-valenced information have been implicated in the etiology and maintenance of depression. The Matrix task, a free-viewing eye-tracking attention assessment task, has shown corroborating results, coupled with adequate reliability. Yet, replication efforts are still needed.
