Incorporation of polyethylene glycol (PEG) is widely used in lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation in order to achieve adequate stability due to its stealth properties. However, studies have detected the presence of anti-PEG neutralizing antibodies after PEGylated LNP treatment, which are associated with anaphylaxis, accelerated LNP clearance and premature release of cargo. Here, we report the development of LNPs incorporating ganglioside, a naturally occurring stealth lipid, as a PEG-free alternative.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors have revolutionized cancer therapy, but many patients fail to respond or develop resistance, often due to reduced T cell activity. Costimulation via 4-1BB has emerged as a promising approach to enhance the effector function of antigen-primed T cells. Bispecific T cell-engaging (TCE) antibodies are an effective way to provide tumor-specific T cell receptor-mediated signaling to tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes.

Background: Tranexamic acid (TXA) is a pharmacological agent used in reducing blood loss during orthopaedic surgeries, including total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Despite its proven efficacy and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines recommending combined topical and intravenous administration, compliance in clinical practice often lags.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate and improve adherence to NICE guidelines for TXA use during TKA through a quality improvement initiative.

Introduction: We determined the median effective dose and 95% confidence interval (CI) of remimazolam required to inhibit laryngeal mask airway (LMA) insertion reactions combined with sufentanil 0.3 μg/kg in pediatric anesthesia.
Methods: Children scheduled to undergo elective laryngeal mask anesthesia were divided into the preschool (age: 3-6 years) and school-age (6-12 years) groups.

The administered infusion solution is a sterile preparation that can be used directly for intravenous infusion in patients by mixing one or more intravenous drugs using aseptic operation technology. The pharmacy intravenous admixture service (PIVAS) center is a professional technical service department in hospitals, where the majority of inpatient-administered infusion solutions are prepared. During the processes of dissolution, dilution, preparation, storage, and use of intravenous drugs, the quality control of the administered infusion solution can be affected by various factors.
