Background Recommendations regarding long-term postoperative activity are intended to prevent adverse events, but no common policy or best practice exists among ophthalmologists for pediatric patients. We surveyed ophthalmologists on their postoperative guidelines after the one-month postoperative period following childhood cataract and glaucoma surgeries. Methods A 28-question anonymous Qualtrics survey was distributed via listservs and social media.

Objective: This retrospective, single centre, comparative effectiveness study aimed to compare the long term outcomes of percutaneous arteriovenous fistulae (pAVF) and surgically created arteriovenous fistulae (sAVF) created in the proximal forearm for haemodialysis access.
Methods: Data were reviewed from a prospectively maintained database on patients who underwent pAVF or sAVF creation from September 2017 to September 2023. A total of 217 pAVFs (61 WavelinQ and 156 Ellipsys) and 158 sAVFs were analysed.
One-year follow-up does not determine rotator cuff repair long-term outcome.

Long-acting and extended-release drug delivery strategies have greatly improved treatment for a variety of medical conditions. Special populations, specifically infants, children, young people, and pregnant and postpartum women, could greatly benefit from access to these strategies but are often excluded from clinical trials. We conducted a systematic review of all clinical studies involving the use of a long-acting intramuscular injection or implant in infants, children, young people, and pregnant and postpartum people.

: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disease in the older adult population and is often associated with reduced physical activity. Reduced activity and mechanical loading subsequently reduce bone mineral density and increase risk of osteoporosis. Bisphosphonates (BPs) offer preventative effects on osteoporotic fractures in the general population, but their effects on patients with AD are less known.
