Taban-Arshan extract decreased expression of T-lymphocyte activation markers, normalized T-cell-mediated immunity, and suppressed increased activity of natural killer receptors during culturing with lymphocytes of patients with atopic bronchial asthma. Taban-Arshan extract normalized activation processes in the B-cell immunity and stimulated expression of receptors of activation-induced apoptosis.

It has been suggested that parasitic infections, common in Latin American populations, may amplify the inflammatory response of the airways. There are several reports of atopic and asthmatic patients but few reports of parasitic infection in COPD patients. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of parasitic infections in COPD patients compared with atopic and asthmatic patients attending the Institute of Immunology outpatient clinics and the pneumology service of the University hospital.

Background: An understanding of the phenotypes and endotypes of atopic dermatitis (AD) is essential for developing precision therapies. Recent studies have demonstrated evidence for the gut-skin axis in AD.
Objective: We sought to determine the natural course and clinical characteristics of AD phenotypes and investigate their mechanisms on the basis of multiomics analyses.

Background: Periostin and human chitinase-3-like protein 1 (YKL-40) have been suggested to be involved in the development of airway fibrosis and remodeling. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between serum periostin levels and airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) and between serum YKL-40 levels and AHR in children with asthma, comparing periostin as a marker for Th2 inflammation and atopy with YKL-40.
Methods: The study involved children aged 6-15 years, comprising 75 with asthma and 29 healthy controls.

Background: The role of immunoglobulin G (IgG) responses to food as potential triggering factors in allergic disorders continues to be debatable, and is not endorsed by most allergy societies.
Objective: To explore the prevalence of specific IgG immune responses to common foods in pediatric allergic disorders and any potential relationship between them.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on children and adolescents diagnosed with allergic disorders at the Ekthar Clinic in Jeddah City.
