Aims And Background: To add a further contribution to the literature supporting the relationship between previous head trauma and development of glioma.

Methods: We report on four patients who developed brain gliomas in the scar of an old brain injury.

Results: All cases fulfilled the widely established criteria for brain tumors of traumatic origin. In all of our cases there was radiological evidence of absence of tumor at the time of the injury.

Conclusions: We believe that in specific cases it is reasonable to acknowledge an etiological association between a severe head trauma and the development of a glioma. This assumption is further sustained if there is radiological and surgical documentation of the absence of neoplasia at the moment of the trauma.

Trehalose has neuroprotective effects in neurodegenerative diseases. This study aimed to explore the impact of trehalose on traumatic brain injury (TBI) by investigating its role in neuroprotection. The TBI mice model was established utilizing the cortical impact technique followed by trehalose treatment.

Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are a leading cause of mortality and morbidity, particularly in forensic settings where determining the cause of death and timing of injury is critical. Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), a biomarker specific to astrocytes, has emerged as a valuable tool in post-mortem analyses of TBI. A PRISMA-based literature search included studies examining GFAP in human post-mortem samples such as brain tissue, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), serum, and urine.

Health-related behavioral changes may occur following traumatic brain injury. We focused on understanding the impact of mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) on health-related behaviors and identifying factors associated with such changes. We utilized health check-up records from the Korean National Health Insurance Service database spanning January 1, 2009, to December 31, 2017.

Head and Neck Surgeon and Head, Verwelius 3D Lab, Department of Head and Neck Oncology and Surgery, Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Statement Of Problem: A nasal prosthesis may compensate for a partial or complete defect of the nose associated with trauma or amputation. However, the design and production is time-consuming, expensive, and expertize-dependent. Computer-generated prosthesis models and 3D printing can optimize the process.
