Soil salinization poses a significant ecological and environmental challenge both in China and across the globe. Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) enhance plants' resilience against biotic and abiotic stresses, thereby playing a vital role in soil improvement and vegetation restoration efforts. PGPR assist plants in thriving under salt stress by modifying plant physiology, enhancing nutrient absorption, and synthesizing plant hormones.

Hardy plants play a crucial role in restoring high-altitude tailings ponds, but the accumulation of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) and detoxification mechanisms in alpine plants are understudied. This study first investigated the cadmium (Cd) accumulation capacity and detoxification mechanisms by comparative transcriptomics with different Cd stress (0, 5, 10, 20 and 40 mg L Cd) of Koenigia tortuosa from a lead-zinc mine (4950 m above sea level) in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The findings revealed that, despite elevated Cd concentrations suppressed the growth of Koenigia tortuosa, the plant retained a notable ability to accumulate Cd.

To understand the effects of compound curing agent (60 % NaCl+40 % KCl + 90 mg/kg NaNO) on the protein characteristics and proteome of Nuodeng ham, the protein structure, oxidation, degradation, and proteomic changes of Nuodeng ham were analyzed. The results showed that the hydrophobic and disulfide bonds were the main forces to maintain the stability of the ham protein. The compound curing agent reduced protein oxidation and promoted the transformation of the α-helix structure to the β-sheet structure.

Ozone (O) is an effective agent for post-harvest fruit preservation against diverse microorganisms. In this study, a cost-effective ozone micro-nano bubbles ice (O-MNBI) was prepared, characterized, and subsequently used to precool litchi. The optimal protocols for O-MNBI production were as follows: water (2 °C, pH = 7) was pumped into a micro-nano O bubble generator for 10 min aeration treatment.

As a detrimental abiotic stressor, salinity affects plant growth and yield. Domain of unknown function 1644 (DUF1644) is a large plant-specific DUF protein family that is predicted to be involved in abiotic stress responses in plants. However, the biological functions of DUF1644 genes in plants remain largely unexplored, especially in halophytes.
