Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of home-use desensitizing agents over an 8-week period by comparing them using different measurement methods.

Methods: A randomized, controlled clinical trial was conducted with 180 individuals aged between 18 and 70 who clinically diagnosed dentin hypersensitivity (DH) in two or more non-adjacent teeth. Subjects who met the inclusion criteria (n = 164) were randomly allocated into five test groups-using Casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP), Arginine, Novamin, Propolis, and Potassium nitrate-and a control group using standard fluoride toothpaste.

Efficient removal of TcO from radioactive effluents while recovering drinking water remains a challenge. Herein, an excellent ReO (a nonradioactive surrogate of TcO ) scavenger is presented through covalently bonding imidazolium poly(ionic liquids) polymers with an ionic porous aromatic framework (iPAF), namely iPAF-P67, following an adsorption-site density-addition strategy. It shows rapid sorption kinetics, high uptake capacity, and exceptional selectivity toward ReO .

Thiol-maleimide click reaction-driven imprinted polymer for chiral resolution of indoprofen.

Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, Taibah University, Yanbu, Saudi Arabia; Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, Mansoura University, Mansoura, Egypt. Electronic address:

Indoprofen (INP) comprises two enantiomers, R- and S-, whose high pharmacological efficacy is realized only in the case of the separated enantiomers. A newly synthesized poly(acrylonitrile-co-divinylbenzene) (PANB)-based sorbent with selective affinity to the S-enantiomer of INP was applied to separate INP racemate. The synthesis was performed by suspension polymerization with low-crosslinked PANB microparticles and by reaction of the inserted nitriles with 1-amino-1H-pyrrole-2,5‑dione (Ma-NH).

A morphologically transformable hypoxia-induced radical anion for tumor-specific photothermal therapy.

State Key Laboratory of Polymer Physics and Chemistry, Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun 130022, China.

Tumor microenvironment activatable therapeutic agents and their effective tumor accumulation are significant for selective tumor treatment. Herein, we provide an unadulterated nanomaterial combining the above advantages. We synthesize a perylene diimide (PDI) molecule substituted by glutamic acid (Glu), which can self-assemble into small spherical nanoparticles (PDI-SG) in aqueous solution.

Ultramicroporous Tröger's Base Framework Membranes With Ionized Sub-nanochannels for Efficient Acid/Alkali Recovery.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

January 2025

Research Center for Membrane and Film Technology, Department of Chemical Science and Engineering, Kobe University, Kobe, 6500034, Japan.

Membrane technology holds significant potential for the recovery of acids and alkalis from industrial wastewater systems, with ion exchange membranes (IEMs) playing a crucial role in these applications. However, conventional IEMs are limited to separating only monovalent cations or anions, presenting a significant challenge in achieving concomitant H⁺/OH⁻ permselectivity for simultaneous acid and alkali recovery. To address this issue, the charged microporous polymer framework membranes are developed, featuring rigid Tröger's Base network chains constructed through a facile sol-gel process.
