Phosphoryl transfer enzymes and hypervalent phosphorus chemistry.

The coordination tendencies of phosphorus to form a hexacoordinated state from a pentacoordinated state, which might assist in describing the mechanistic action of phosphoryl transfer enzymes, are delineated. The factors discussed include substrate and transition or intermediate state anionicity, hydrogen bonding, packing effects, that is, van der Waals forces, the ease of formation of hexacoordinate phosphorus from lower coordinate states, and the pseudorotation problem common to nonrigid pentacoordinate phosphorus. In view of the work reported in this Account and recent work on enzyme promiscuity and moonlighting activities, it is suggested that donor action should play a role in determining active site interactions in phosphoryl transfer enzyme mechanisms.

To investigate the effect of a novel coumarin derivative, ethyl 2,2-difluoro-2 - (2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl) acetate (C2F), on the malignant biological behaviors of colorectal cancer (CRC) and elucidate its mechanism. In vitro, the effects of C2F on the proliferation, apoptosis, migration, invasion, and cell cycle of CRC cells were analyzed by MTT assay, EdU stainning, colony formation assay, flow cytometry, wound healing and transwell assay. The anti-CRC activity of C2F was evaluated in a nude mice xenograft model in vivo.

Developing biomass-based adsorbents with superior uranium uptake performance is imperative yet challenging for the sustainable development of nuclear energy. Herein, we constructed a novel lignin-based adsorbent (DLP@PAO) with dual functional groups and enhanced structural stability via ingenious integration of lignin and polyamidoxime. The two-step modification strategy was innovatively employed to phosphorylate lignin, significantly enhancing the phosphorylation efficiency and achieving an over eight-fold increase in the U(VI) uptake capacity of lignin.

Succinate is a pivotal tricarboxylic acid cycle metabolite but also specifically activates the G- and G-coupled succinate receptor 1 (SUCNR1). Contradictory roles of succinate and succinate-SUCNR1 signaling include reports about its anti- or pro-inflammatory effects. The link between cellular metabolism and localization-dependent SUCNR1 signaling qualifies as a potential cause for the reported conflicts.
