The morphology of cells immunoreactive to an antibody against molluscan insulin-related peptide (MIP-IR) was studied in two species of terrestrial snail: Helix lucorum L. and Eobania vermiculata L. Immunocytochemical staining with this antibody to MIP revealed 100-130 cells in the postcerebrum, located in two clusters with common pathways in the dorsal body nerve and the cerebral artery nerve. About 75% of the MIP-IR cells were labeled by backfilling of the dorsal body nerve in Helix and Eobania; the corresponding figures for labeling by backfilling of the cerebral artery nerve were about 60% in Helix and 30% in Eobania. Upon intracellular staining of neurons of the dorsomedial postcerebrum, where most of the MIP-IR cells were located, it was found that they projected either in the dorsal body nerve or in the cerebral artery nerve or in both. The obtained data suggest that growth and reproduction processes (both functions were attributed to the insulin-related peptide-containing neurons) are regulated by the two, partially coinciding subsets of postcerebral MIP-IR neurons with different types of branching.

Eagle rays, cownose rays and manta rays (order Myliobatiformes) have a slender tail that can be longer than the animal's body length, but its function and structure are unknown. Using histology, immunohistochemistry and three-dimensional imaging with micro-computed tomography scans, we describe the anatomy and function of the tail in , the cownose ray. The tail is an extension of the vertebral column with unique morphological specializations.

Objective: To compare the efficacy of closed-loop spinal cord stimulation (CL-SCS) and dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation in managing chronic cancer-related pain.
Material/methods: A retrospective review was conducted with IRB exemption for four patients with cancer-related pain who underwent combination stimulator trials. Patients were trialed with both CL-SCS and DRG stimulation for 8-10 days, with assessments of pain relief, functional improvement, sleep improvement, pain medication changes, and overall satisfaction.
Tumors can exert a far-reaching influence on the body, triggering systemic responses that contribute to debilitating conditions like cancer cachexia. To characterize the mechanisms underlying tumor-host interactions, we utilized a BioID-based proximity labeling method to identify proteins secreted by Yki adult gut tumors into the bloodstream/hemolymph. Among the major proteins identified are coagulation and immune-responsive factors that contribute to the systemic wasting phenotypes associated with Yki tumors.
