Results of hemorrhoidectomy in 185 patients were analyzed. In 82 patients of the study group surgery was performed with "LigaSure" generator. Control group consisted of 103 patients who underwent surgery by Milligan-Morgan method. Appliance of "LigaSure" generator to reduced time of surgery by 3.5 times (from 48+/-10.3 min to 13+/-3.7 min), pain syndrome -- 2.2 times, and dysuric disorders -- 2.4 times.

Article Synopsis
  • Endoscopic-assisted breast surgery (EABS) offers better cosmetic results for breast cancer patients, but traditional axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) requires larger incisions and more retraction.
  • The proposed single-port three-dimensional endoscopic-assisted ALND (S-P 3D E-ALND) uses a minimally invasive technique with high success rates and improved visualization, analyzed from a study of 11 patients.
  • Preliminary results show 100% success without open surgery conversion, short operative times, minimal blood loss, and no significant complications over a median follow-up of 7 months, suggesting that S-P 3D E-ALND is a viable alternative for ALND.

Objective: Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) has become the most commonly performed bariatric procedure due to its technical simplicity and effectiveness. While stapler line reinforcement has significantly reduced hemorrhagic complications, postoperative bleeding remains a concern, particularly from omentum or unidentified sources. The LigaSure device, known for sealing vessels successfully up to 7 mm in diameter, may face challenges in obese patients due to excessive omental fat.

Background: Conventional axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) is associated with significant post-operative morbidity in patients undergoing breast surgery due to increased lymphatic leakage. LigaSure, an electrothermal bipolar vessel sealing system, provides better closure of the leakage. This study aims to compare the efficacy and safety of LigaSure against conventional techniques in patients with breast cancer underwent ALND and breast surgery.

  • Chronic fissures last over six weeks and have specific anatomical features, with treatment options varying from conservative methods to surgery, like lateral internal sphincterotomy (LIS) which carries risks of complications like anal incontinence.
  • This study explores the use of LigaSure, a bipolar electrosurgical device, in treating chronic anal fissures to determine if it offers advantages over traditional surgical methods.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compared the surgical outcomes of two hemorrhoidectomy techniques: the conventional Milligan-Morgan method and the LigaSure technique.
  • From June 2016 to March 2022, data on 91 patients showed that LigaSure had a significantly shorter operation time, reduced hospital stay, and lower pain scores compared to Milligan-Morgan.
  • The findings suggest that LigaSure hemorrhoidectomy is a superior option for patients due to quicker recovery times and improved overall outcomes, encouraging surgeons to consider this method for better efficiency.
