Background: Outpatient hysteroscopic surgery requires patients to be anaesthetised and recover quickly, and the drugs used must be safe and effective. Remifentanil is typically co-administered with propofol as total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA) for hysteroscopy because of its favourable pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties. However, the optimal dose of remifentanil when co-administered with propofol without neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) has not been established.

Value of narcotrend anesthesia depth monitoring in predicting POCD in gastrointestinal tumor anesthesia block patients.

Background: The purpose of this research was to evaluate the efficacy of Narcotrend (NT) monitoring on cognitive dysfunction in patients undergoing anesthesia blockade for gastrointestinal tumors and its effect on cerebral oxygen metabolism and inflammatory response.

Methods: Patients preparing to undergo resection of gastrointestinal tumor resection were included and randomly divided into a control group (depth of anesthesia assessed by physician experience) and a research group (depth of anesthesia monitored by NT). HR and MAP were monitored at the preoperatively (T), 12 h postoperative (T), 24 h postoperative (T), and 48 h postoperative (T) stages.

To analyze the consistency of the anesthesia index (AI) and Narcotrend index (NI) in monitoring the depth of anesthesia in pediatric tonsil/adenoidectomy. A total of 129 children who underwent elective tonsil/adenoidectomy at Xijing Hospital Affiliated to Air Force Medical University from July 2022 to October 2023 were prospectively enrolled. Both AI monitoring by ConView monitor and NI monitoring by Narcotrend monitor were conducted for children after they were admitted to the operating room, while Propofol-remifentanil combined with total intravenous anesthesia was used during the operation and the anesthetic dose was adjusted to maintain the NI value at 40-60.

Heart rate variability as a predictor of intraoperative autonomic nervous system homeostasis.

The aim of the proof-of-concept study is to investigate the level of concordance between the heart rate variability (HRV), the EEG-based Narcotrend Index as a surrogate marker for the depth of hypnosis, and the minimal alveolar concentration (MAC) of the inhalation anesthetic sevoflurane across the entire course of a surgical procedure. This non-blinded cross-sectional study recorded intraoperative HRV, Narcotrend Index, and MAC in 31 male patients during radical prostatectomy using the Da-Vinci robotic-assisted surgical system at Mannheim University Medical Center. The degree of concordance was calculated using repeated measures correlation with the R package (rmcorr) and presented using the rmcorr coefficient (rrm).

Objective: This study aims to investigate whether tracheal extubation at different depths of anesthesia using Narcotrend EEG (NT value) can influence the recovery quality from anesthesia and cognitive function of children who underwent tonsillotomy.

Methods: The study enrolled 152 children who underwent tonsillotomy and were anesthetized with endotracheal intubation in our hospital from September 2019 to March 2022. These patients were divided into Group A (conscious group, NT range of 95-100), Group B (light sedation group, NT range of 80-94), and Group C (conventional sedation group, NT range of 65-79).
