The demand for personal assistants for persons with disabilities is outpacing the supply. The objective of this pilot project was to describe the training and supervision needs of personal assistants, the nature of the assistant-consumer relationship, and the job satisfaction associated with being employed as a personal assistant. Telephone interviews were conducted with 24 personal assistants. All of the participants reported being competent and well trained in their work and 79% of the participants reported being very satisfied with their work as a personal assistant. All also reported they had an opportunity to accomplish something worthwhile in their jobs. Participants reported high levels of satisfaction with their relationship with their employers and with their jobs in general, despite dissatisfaction with low wages. Further research is needed to identify strategies for increasing the supply of personal assistants, who are pivotal to helping consumers maintain their independence.

Background And Hypothesis: Unlike X-linked or autosomal recessive Alport Syndrome, no clear genotype/phenotype correlation has yet been demonstrated in patients carrying a single variant of COL4A3 or COL4A4.
Methods: We carried out a multicenter retrospective study to assess the risk factors involved in renal survival in patients presenting a single pathogenic variant on COL4A3 or COL4A4.
Results: 97 patients presenting a single pathogenic variant of COL4A3 or COL4A4 were included.

Background: Axial spondyloarthritis (SpA) leads to structural bone lesions in every part of the vertebral column. These lesions are only partially visualized on conventional radiographs, omitting posterior parts of the vertebral column and the thoracic spine, that may nevertheless contribute to impaired spinal mobility and function in patients with axial SpA.
Methods: In this prospective and blinded investigation, we assessed the distribution of structural spinal lesions using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the whole spine in 55 patients with axial SpA classified according to the Assessment in Spondyloarthritis International Society (ASAS) criteria.

Background: Synchronous malignant histiocytoses are rare conditions that occur concurrently with another hematologic neoplasm. Most reported cases are associated with B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders, while associations with T-cell hemopathies are less common. These two diseases may share mutations and/or cytogenetic anomalies, which can lead to malignant proliferations.

Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the association between sarcopenia and liver fibrosis in patients aged 18-59 years with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and to assess the potential of sarcopenia as a risk factor for the progression of liver fibrosis.
Methods: The study included 821 patients with MASLD in the US cohort and 3,405 patients with MASLD in the Chinese cohort. Liver controlled attenuation parameters (CAP) and liver stiffness measurements (LSM) were assessed by vibration-controlled transient elastography (VCTE) to evaluate the extent of hepatic steatosis and fibrosis.

Background: The worldwide population is ageing and self-arm can be prevented with many techniques. Among them coercive measure consisting of physical restraint (PR) is one of the techniques. This study aims to assess the effects of the biological sex on the long-term survival after PR in geriatric patients during the initial emergency department (ED) visit.
