Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator gene (CFTR) shows a complex mechanism of tissue-specific and temporal regulation. CFTR mRNA detection and measurement are extremely difficult because of the low to very low levels of its endogenous expression. In this paper, we describe four different non-PCR methods optimized to analyze CFTR transcripts in epithelial cell lines, primary cell lines and native tissues that express significant amounts of CFTR transcript.

Background: Ongoing discussions persist concerning the precedence of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) relative to adjuvant therapy (AT) for patients with T1c, node-negative, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), and pertinent guidelines for these individuals are absent.
Methods: Women diagnosed with T1cN0M0-stage TNBC who received chemotherapy and surgery were selected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results database (2010-2020). To balance baseline characteristics and mitigate selection bias, propensity score matching (PSM) was used to create the NAT and AT cohorts.

Background: Breast cancer (BC) is a common cancer among women worldwide, and although the use of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) for BC has become more widespread, there is no standardized prediction of the efficacy of NAT for BC. This study aimed to evaluate the value of quantitative parameters of dual-layer detector spectral computed tomography (DLCT) in predicting whether BC patients can achieve pathological complete response (pCR) after NAT.
Methods: Patients who were first diagnosed with BC in Shandong Cancer Hospital and Institute and received only NAT before surgery were selected for participation in this study.

Purpose: Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is an important prognostic factor for rectal cancer. This study aims to introduce a novel cutoff point for CEA within the normal range to improve prognosis prediction and enhance patient stratification in rectal cancer patients.
Methods: A total of 316 patients with stages I to III rectal cancer who underwent surgical tumor resection were enrolled.

Rationale And Objectives: The precise prediction of response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy is crucial for tailoring perioperative treatment in patients diagnosed with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). This retrospective study aims to develop and validate a model that integrates deep learning and sub-regional radiomics from MRI imaging to predict pathological complete response (pCR) in patients with LARC.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 768 eligible participants from three independent hospitals who had received neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy followed by radical surgery.

Background: Biological evidence has revealed antitumor effect of vitamin D, but whether it could predict the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer (BC) patients remains inconclusive. The aim was to investigate the association between pretreatment vitamin D level and response to NAC and subsequent survival outcomes in BC patients.
Materials And Methods: The authors systematically searched the Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases and clinical trial registries to identify relevant articles from inception to 8 October 2024.
