Article Abstract

Joint cultivation of small amounts of young and mature erythrocytes with bone marrow erythroblastic islands during 24 hours in liquid culture system results in erythropoiesis stimulation due to increase of number of cells in the state of mitosis in island's "crown". Prolonged joint cultivation and/or joint cultivation with plenty of premature and mature erythrocytes leads to inhibition of the erythropoiesis in the state of mitosis in the island's "crown". The maximum of the inhibitory effect was shown by erythrocytes from polycythemia rats.

PRDX2 induces tumor immune evasion by modulating the HDAC3-Galectin-9 axis in lung adenocarcinoma cells.

J Transl Med

January 2025

Joint Research Center for Occupational Medicine and Health of IHM, School of Medicine, Anhui University of Science and Technology, Huainan, Anhui, 232000, China.

Background: PRDX2 is significantly expressed in various cancers and is associated with the proliferation of tumor cells. Nonetheless, the precise mechanism of PRDX2 in tumor immunity remains incompletely understood. This study aims to investigate the impact of PRDX2, which is highly expressed in lung adenocarcinoma, on T cells in the tumor immune microenvironment, and its immune action target to promote the immune escape of lung cancer cells, to provide a theoretical basis for lung adenocarcinoma treatment with PRDX2 as the target.

Bioactive materials from berberine-treated human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells accelerate tooth extraction socket healing through the jaw vascular unit.

Delayed tooth extraction socket (TES) healing can cause failure of subsequent oral implantation and increase socioeconomic burden on patients. Excessive amounts of M1 macrophages, apoptotic neutrophils (ANs), and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) impair alveolar bone regeneration during TES healing. In the present study, we first discovered that conditioned medium (CM) collected from berberine-treated human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BBR-HB-CM) accelerated TES healing.

Decoding the mA epitranscriptomic landscape for biotechnological applications using a direct RNA sequencing approach.

Epitranscriptomic modifications, particularly N6-methyladenosine (mA), are crucial regulators of gene expression, influencing processes such as RNA stability, splicing, and translation. Traditional computational methods for detecting mA from Nanopore direct RNA sequencing (DRS) data are constrained by their reliance on experimentally validated labels, often resulting in the underestimation of modification sites. Here, we introduce pum6a, an innovative attention-based framework that integrates positive and unlabeled multi-instance learning (MIL) to address the challenges of incomplete labeling and missing read-level annotations.

Following 30 years of sequencing, we assessed the phylogenetic diversity (PD) of >1.5 million microbial genomes in public databases, including metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) of uncultivated microbes. As compared to the vast diversity uncovered by metagenomic sequences, cultivated taxa account for a modest portion of the overall diversity, 9.

Plant height is a key trait that significantly influences plant architecture, disease resistance, adaptability to mechanical cultivation, and overall economic yield. Galactinol synthase (GolS) is a crucial enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of raffinose family oligosaccharides (RFOs). It plays a significant role in carbohydrate transport and storage, combating abiotic and biotic stresses, and regulating plant growth and development.
