Objective: To study the role of pro-inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-alpha), interleukin-1beta(IL-1beta), IL-6, and anti-inflammatory cytokines including IL-4, IL-10, and IL-13 in acute lung injury(ALI).

Methods: Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) were used to assess the expressions of mRNA of TNF-alpha, IL-1beta, IL-6, IL-4, IL-10 and IL-13 in the lung tissue after lipopolysaccharide challenge.

Results: The expression of TNF-alpha mRNA was seen to peak at 1 hour and IL-6 mRNA at 4 hours in lung tissue after the challenge. The highest expression of mRNA of other cytokines, such as IL-1beta, IL-4, IL-10 and IL-13 in lung tissue appeared 2 hours after LPS-induced lung injury.

Conclusion: TNF-alpha is an early presenting cytokine in ALI, and IL-6 may play an important role in delayed development of ALI. The over-expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4, IL-10 and IL-13 may act as promoters rather than protectors in amplification of inflammatory process.

Background: The role of memory B cells and their subgroups in allergic rhinitis (AR) and allergen immunotherapy (AIT) remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of memory B cells in the circulation of patients with AR and those undergoing AIT, as well as their clinical significance.

Methods: This study involved a cohort comprising 32 healthy control subjects, 39 individuals diagnosed with AR, and 31 AR patients who had received AIT for over one year.

Background: Central obesity increases the risk of developing poor outcomes of COVID-19. The pro-inflammatory state and antibody dysfunction are thought to contribute to poor outcomes; however, the evidence is unclear.

Methods: This is a cohort study among COVID-19 patients with central obesity in Dr.

Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a T cell-dependent, B cell-mediated disorder strongly associated with antigen presentation by dendritic cells (DCs). In MG, mucosal tolerance is linked to increased expression of TGF-β mRNA in monocytes. Additionally, monocytic myeloid-derived suppressor cells (M-MDSCs) exhibit negative immunomodulatory effects by suppressing autoreactive T and B cells.

: Cytokines related to the Th17 response have been associated with peri-implant diseases; however, the effect of peri-implant therapy on their modulation remains underexplored. To evaluate the effect of peri-implant therapy on the expression of cytokines related to the Th17 response in the peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF) (GM-CSF, IFN-γ, IL-1β, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-12 (p70), IL-17A, IL-21, IL-23, and TNF-α) of partially edentulous patients with peri-implant disease (PID). : Thirty-seven systemically healthy individuals presenting with peri-implant mucositis (PIM) (n = 20) or peri-implantitis (PI) (n = 17) were treated and evaluated at baseline (T0) and three months after therapy (T1).

can modulate host immune mechanisms through excretory-secretory products (ESP). As one of the components of ESP, it is unknown whether Abelson tyrosine protein kinase (Abl) is involved in parasite-host immune interaction. To investigate the immunoregulatory function of Abl in , we cloned and expressed the gigantica Abl protein and assessed its effect on specific immune functions of buffalo peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
