Objective: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition characterized by social communication differences and restricted interests. One proposed biologic mechanism underlying ASD is oxidative stress, leading to the clinical use of glutathione based on anecdotal reports of improved behavior in autistic children. In this pilot study, we tested this observation using a randomized clinical trial format to collect preliminary data on glutathione safety and efficacy.

Background: Keloids are disfiguring, fibrotic scar-like lesions that are challenging to treat and commonly recur after therapy. A deeper understanding of the mechanisms driving keloid formation is necessary for the development of more effective therapies. A 71-year-old woman with dilated cardiomyopathy underwent an echocardiogram showing new onset of multiple mobile left ventricular masses. She experienced a mild COVID-19 infection 1 month before. After a multimodality imaging evaluation, vitamin K antagonist treatment was started, with progressive reduction of the masses without clinical events.
