The widespread use of thiamethoxam has led to pesticide residues that have sparked global concerns regarding ecological and human health risks. A pressing requirement exists for a detection method that is both swift and sensitive. Herein, we introduced an innovative fluorescence biosensor constructed from alendronic acid (ADA)-modified upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) linked with magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) via aptamer recognition for the detection of thiamethoxam.

Common treatment approaches for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) are associated with severe side effects due to the unfavorable biodistribution profile of potent chemotherapeutics. Here, we explored the potential of TNBC-targeting aptamer-decorated porous silicon nanoparticles (pSiNPs) as targeted nanocarriers for TNBC. A "salt-aging" strategy was employed to fabricate a TNBC-targeting aptamer functionalized pSiNP that was highly colloidally stable.

Aptamers represent a distinct category of short nucleotide sequences or peptide molecules characterized by their ability to bind to specific targets with high precision. These molecules are predominantly synthesized through SELEX (Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment) technology. Recent findings indicate that aptamers may have significant applications in regenerative medicine, particularly in the domain of tissue repair.

Ambient ionization mass spectrometry (AIMS) allows rapid analysis of targets, while its overall selectivity is somewhat limited due to the lack of chromatographic separation. Recently, magnetic blade spray (MBS) has enhanced AIMS by incorporating immunomagnetic beads instead of the traditional coated blade spray (CBS) coating, thereby improving selectivity and sensitivity by targeted analyte detection and reducing background interference. In this study, an aptamer-functionalized and nucleic acid dye (GelRed)-loaded MS probe (AGMP) was developed and employed with MBS-based miniature mass spectrometer.

Nanoscale drug delivery systems that are both multifunctional and targeted have been developed using proteins as a basis, thanks to their attractive biomacromolecule properties. A novel nanocarrier, aptamer (AS1411)-conjugated β-lactoglobulin/poly-l-lysine (BLG/Ap/PL) nanoparticles, was developed in this study. To this unique formulation, the as-prepared nanocarrier blends the distinctive features of an aptamer as a chemotherapeutic targeting agent with those of protein nanocarriers.
