Celomic cysts (pericardiopleural or serous cysts) are rare, as they account for about 30% of all the homoplastic disembryogenetic lesions of the mediastinum. There is not usually a characteristic symptomatology associated with this anomaly, which is, however, easily diagnosed by means of the most common radiologic techniques. The TC together with the MRI provides all the necessary data for an appropriate management of the patient. The Authors report on their five year experience of the surgical treatment of celomic cysts, pointing out that surgery must be aimed at preserving pulmonary function as much as possible. They finally maintain that the first surgical approach should be video-thoracoscopic with the aid of a minithoracotomy, if necessary.

Despite the importance of finding replacements for fetal bovine serum (FBS), very few studies have focused on this subject. Historically, the use of animals and their derivatives in growth, reproduction, and physiological studies has raised several concerns. The supplementation of culture media with FBS, also known as fetal calf serum, continues to be widespread, despite its limitations in quality, reproducibility, and implications for animal welfare.

Significant knowledge gaps remain in our understanding of the reproductive physiology and diseases of elasmobranchs. The objective of this work is to describe the clinical, imaging, and pathologic findings associated with polycystic ovaries in cownose rays housed in public aquariums. Ten adult female cownose rays Rhinoptera bonasus housed in 4 public aquariums presented with variable nonspecific (lethargy, anorexia, cutaneous discoloration) or no clinical signs.

Stress in sea urchins leads to high mortality and economic losses in both the environment and aquaculture. The green sea urchin Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis has been documented emitting complex biofluorescence, yet how this responds to external stressors is unknown. Adult sea urchins (n = 210) were divided between control (n = 30) and experimental groups (n = 180), using three transport variables: out of water, in water at elevated temperatures, (warm-water) and in water at seawater temperature (cold-water).

Objective: We aim to develop a predictive model for lymphovascular invasion (LVI) in patients with invasive breast cancer (IBC), using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based radiomics features.
Methods: A total of 204 patients with IBC admitted to our hospital were included in this retrospective study. The data was split into training and validation sets at a 7:3 ratio.
