A new type of three-dimensional scaffold with inverted colloidal crystal geometry for the investigation of topological effects in cell cultures is introduced in this publication. The scaffolds are made by infiltration of the hexagonal crystal lattice of polystyrene spheres with sol-gel formulation and subsequent annealing. It possesses a relatively high degree of order among existing cell scaffolds and affords tight control over the scaffold porosity and tissue organization. The prepared scaffolds can be a convenient system for the investigation of cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Their biocompatibility is demonstrated for human hepatocellular carcinoma HEP G2 and human bone marrow HS-5 cell cultures. A preliminary effect of the scaffold topology on cell proliferation is observed. HEP G2 hepatocytes form a large number of 10-15 cell colonies on scaffolds made from 75-microm spheres, while their number diminishes for scaffolds from 10- and 160-microm spheres. Under similar conditions, HS-5 forms smaller colonies consisting of three to four cells in 90-microm cavities.

Self-assembled monolayers (SAM) as hole transport layers have been widely used in high-efficiency inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs) exceeded 26 %. However, the poor coverage and non-uniform distribution on the substrate of SAM further restrict the improvement of device performance. Herein, we utilize the mixed SAM strategy via the MeO-2PACz along with perfluorotripropylamine (FC-3283) to improve the SAM coverage, aiming to accelerate the carrier transport, promote the perovskite growth, regulate the surface energy levels and suppress the nonradiative recombination.

Osteoporosis, a common metabolic bone disorder, leads to increased fracture risk and significant morbidity, particularly in postmenopausal women and the elderly. Traditional treatments often fail to fully restore bone health and may cause side effects, prompting the exploration of regenerative therapies. Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) offer potential for osteoporosis treatment, but their natural inclination toward adipogenic rather than osteogenic differentiation poses a challenge.

The rapidly increased efficiency of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) indicates their broad commercial prospects, but the commercialization of perovskite faces complex optimization processes and stability issues. In this work, a simple optimized strategy is developed by the addition of trimethylgermanium chloride (TGC) into FACsPbI precursor solution. TGC triggers the successive interactions in perovskite solution and film, involving the hydrolysis of vulnerable Ge─Cl bond forming Ge─OH group, then forming the hydrogen bonds (O─H···N and O─H···I) with FAI.

A chiral liquid based on a fluorinated glutamate was designed and synthesized, exhibiting the capacity to transfer chirality to achiral components along with thermal stability in the induced chirality. Notably, the induced chiroptical signal inverted upon phase transition of fluorinated glutamate, which is attributed to alteration in the chiral arrangement.
